I just upgrade my Veralite from UI5 to UI7(1.7.830) and restored from a backup made just before upgrade. I then upgraded all plugins and manually updated VeraAlert to 7.13 via http://x.x.x.x:3480/data_request?id=update_plugin&Plugin=3008. The issue I am having is the the notification config is only displaying a partial list of device/scene notifications (Currently at 13). Also it will not add any new device notification I create, but will remove a device notification. However the VeraAlert report does correctly list all device/scene notifications. Also the “Reload LUA” button does not work; I noticed this error in the Chrome console:
There are some bugs introduced by the latest UI7 release.
They are no longer saving changes to scenes like they did in previous versions.
A notification is implemented as a Scene in Vera.
The notification configuration modifies these Scenes, that are created when you create the notification.
To get around this bug (I will work with MCV on the correct long term solution, I do not know If I need to make an additional api call or if they will revert to the previous behavior) create any dummy scene in Vera (before you refresh the browser). You can delete this scene later. The act of creating the scene will save the changes I previously made in the Vera Alerts editor.
Everyone else until MCV provides a reliable method for Veraalerts plugin:
To view notifications scenes via web:
http://ip_address:3480/data_request?id=user_data&output_format=xml
Search for “StartVeraAlerts”
Also I found the MCV Vera android app displays all the hidden notification scenes and allows for edit/delete.
But the best method via UI7 that works very well is to create/modify a scene (any) and under “Step 3: Finish the Scene” select “Advanced Editor” then “Add delay” (Immediate or add a delay) then “Add action”. Then finally from the drop down menu find/select VeraAlerts plugin/device. After that it’s intuitive, Message, Recipients, and HouseModeMask (I leave it blank). All my alerts are working again.
I can not seem to get it working. Is there a specific sequence to get it working?
If I create a simple PLEG; Door trigger, One condition. Exit Editor. Click notify tab, add notification. Open VeraAlerts Editor, close. Test - no notification.

Yes there is a SMTP profile with all the correct defaults for GMAIL.
If you use two factor authentication then you need to get an APP (Vera Alerts) specific password. You will need to search GMAIL setup to find how to acquire one.
I’m not using 2 step authorization and VeraAlerts says it sent the message (a test message) but I never get it. Log looks good and doesn’t say anything about failures…
I can edit my password out of the log and post it if you need to see it…
Hi Richard. I have two locations that are having the same problem as stated above. They are both installs that have been either been upgraded from a Vera Lite to a Vera Edge or a UI5 to UI7. They are both now running UI7 1.7.855 with VeraAlerts 7.15. When a change is made to a notification, the Configure Notifications tab shows 6 updates but never really writes them. If I close the editor and reopen it the same thing occurs. I tried creating the dummy scene as per the previous instructions but that didn’t seem to help. I also never receive any notifications from either system, either real or test ones. I’ve attached the VeraAlerts report with personal information ***** replaced.
Let me know if there are any log files or anything else that would help.
Thanks. I’ve emailed them. Is that likely the sole cause and likely to be fixed if that file is restored? I definitely didn’t delete it. This log file is from a Vera Lite that I just upgraded from UI5 to UI7 so something must have happened in that process.
Thanks.
Pat
