I have far too many other projects going on right now to really try to make this a great app so I’m just going to open the source up for everybody to pillage / inspect / improve etc etc. You can see it here → GitHub - ragmondo/Veralert: Open source version of vera alerting mechanism (demonstrating c2dm)
I haven’t created any instructions on how to install but if there is any interest let me know and I’ll update the READMEs , clean up the code etc etc.
Ragmondo had a great idea and good start at the development.
I have plans to improve this … I have already done so for Vera 2 … Now that I have a Vera 3.
My plans will be to release in App Store for Vera 3.
I will have to release as a NEW App in Android … since Ragmondo has been to busy to post updates. I have made all of the Android improvements since the first release.
Vera Platform Improvements will be:
a) Simpler Customization
b) Multiple Target Phones
c) Source Time Stamp
d) Simplify Announce Style Tags … including a Text to Speech TTS tag
e) Simplified Luup Coding
f) Allow Custom Tags … useful if you have multiple Vera’s to tag the source.
Android Improvement:
a) Repeatable ID when re-install. That way you do not have to keep changing Vera Setup.
b) Fix previous deployment issues that prevent editing local database from working.
c) Text to Speech Announcements.
