VeraEdge Help Install

Hello,

I can install my VeraEdge.

I have the Power led blinking and I can’t connect to the https://home.getvera.com

If I rebbot the VeraEdge I have only Wifi and Internet led lighting.

Can I have help please ?

Thx

I have a similar problem.
But I only have the internet and WIFI lighting

I’m new but I think that means it hasn’t obtained an IP Address.

I have the same problem when I tried to set up the device for the first time yesterday. I get the message “Unit not available for assign”, and only internet and wifi are lighting.

Hi,

same exact problem here.
it did register (i can see the edge on my profile) but i cannot access the dashboard.

only the internet and wifi were on (blinking shortly). although i’ve assign an fix ip on my router.

i’ve performed an reset (press the reset and power on) and now all lights are on, but power and internet are still blinking.
i’ve send an email to the support, but i’ve heard they aren’t to fast answering.

any ideas?

thanks.

Have you guys tried pluggin a computer directly into the EDGE and accessing the IP that way?

I found when trying to connect it directly to my network it didn’t show up until I went in and changed the ip settings.

I’ll give it an try.

but, to waht Ip shall i then try to connect?

via browser? ssh?

It says in the instructions or something if I remember right. I think (but could be wrong) its

http://192.168.81.1/

You need to plug direct and manually change your computer ip to the same subnet like 192.168.81.100 but not the same ip address.

Then use the ip address above. You can then get in a change the settings.

Just got mine today also.

Plug it in all lights light up for a few seconds then it GOES DARK for about a minute. Then the wifi and the LAN link go steady.

I added it to Vera Account and first it never redirected…
Then I loged back into my account and I see this:
Name Serial Wi-Fi SSID Default Wi-Fi Password
45001020 mios_45001020 power85father

In my WiFi on the PC the WI network shows mios_someotherBSnumber

I try and connect to the wifi with the default wifi passwd above and even the “home id number” on the back of the edge.

not working.

Garbage.

Same Problem here also, like others I only have the internet and WIFI lighting. Just took it out of the box plugged it in. I did exactly what the web page said, I did have all 5 lights but they were blinking, then they all went out. After a minute the internet and WIFI light illuminated, and that’s where it been now for hours. The getvera web page should have some troubleshooting, or just anything. Isn’t there something that can be done besides getting an IT guy.

Yes you can call VERA or login locally.

Good luck getting any help.
Return it.

Exactly the same here in a brand new Vera Edge.

I was able to ssh to the device as root with the “Default Wi-Fi Password” as password. I got the OpenWRT banner. I’m new to Vera so i didn’t know what to expect. I checked some of the common directories and find this log, /tmp/log.mios_firmware. In this log there is an error complaining about not being able to mount /dev/mtdblock9 in /mios apparently caused by an “invalid argument”.

I pressed the reset button with a paperclip and unplug and plug the device. All the lights were on, with the upper two blinking, but the Edge didn’t even get the network up (no IP). I waited a couple of hours and restarted it, and it was back with the two lights (Internet + Wifi), same unable to mount /mios problem.

I tried again to reset the device, and waited overnight, but no progress for now.

If this don’t get solved really soon I’ll probably returned it and try another path controlling z-wave.

Best regards.

Got box yesterday and I have the same issue. Left box blinking over night did not help. Attached LAN to comp but only receiving “404” in plain text from the IP (192.168.81.1).

(Are you having serious issues with spambots in this forum since you have both captcha and magic questions? Took me forever to do a single post on a cell, almost gave up. Worst I’ve seen so far).

I I said in earlier post and what others experienced still no progress.
I am picking up a DHCP address from my router on the LAN. I set this address in my router as static.

I can ping the address and I can SSH to the address and login with root. However, the vera edge http service is not running. I point my browser to http://10.10.1.69 or https://10.10.1.69 and it times out.

  1. how do you factory reset the edge using a hard factory reset with the reset button on the edge?
  2. what is the resolution to this issue?

shame on me. should of taken the amazon reviews more seriously.

Guys on in another thread are also seeing same thing and vera support said to RMA it…

Before the last update the wifi didn’t work. If it didn’t ship with the update from 3 weeks ago you might have the same problem. Trying to connect to it by wifi didn’t work for any of us before the update.

now what???

So have you taken it off your network and plugged it directly to the computer?

Where id you get ip 10.10.1.69?

If I plug it into my laptop the edge does not get an IP address… Obviously because my laptop is not a DHCP server. I did set the laptop up on the same LAN but seems like the vera edge does not store the IP address (rightly so because it is DHCP).

Hence, my question to fact default it and try and connect via 192.168.81.1 assuming that’s the default IP address…
