VeraAlertsLANSend:LAN: Error Connection

Hi there. I have been using a Vera-Alerts-Mobil profile for a while and I’m now trying to get the LAN profile working. Whenever I send a test alert though, I get the “Error Connection” message. Full log output below. The device is connected to WiFi and the IP address entered in the VA LAN profile is correct. I can also ping it from a PC no prob.

I’ve tried different ports too and rebooted the device a bunch of times. The Vera-Alerts-Mobil profile still works great but as this particular device never leaves the home, I was hoping to use a LAN profile to make comms more efficient.

Any help appreciated.

The protocol is quite simple … sounds like you have the wrong IP address.

You can verify the IP address from the “Settings” tab of the Vera Alert Mobil App on your android phone … Scroll down to where it allows you to enter the port.
It will show the current IP address. Unless you have reserved an IP address on your router … this address will likely change every time you connect with WIFI.

I got it working. It didn’t occur to me that where it allows you to enter a port, it was showing my IP as 0.0.0.0. I had to unregister for the right IP address to appear. Works like a charm now.
