Vera3 - Offline

Hello,

My Vera3 reported being offline yesterday and then came back online. Today, it went offline again and now I cannot connect to it. Here are the ways I’ve tried to reach it…

https://home.getvera.com - I can log in with my account but controller shows offline
Vera Mobile app - same as above
local network - vera does not ping/can’t telnet to it

I have the Vera connected to my local network via the WAN port and have it set to a static IP. The Vera DHCP server is turned off.

The Power and Z-Wave LEDs are solid green and the WAN LED is flickering green. I’ve cycled power with no change.

I’m limping along right now as I have no control over any of my Z-Wave devices that are not attached to an actual wall switch. Not sure what to try next as I keep hitting old/dead links in my search results. I don’t think it’s dead but I don’t know how to get to it via telnet/ssh to see what may be going on.

Please help!

Same my vera hedge - offline

I realize the Veras are old but is there no support at all? I’ve factory reset mine and still cannot connect to it…directly plugged in to LAN1/2/3/4 with a static IP 192.168.81.10/24 cannot ping 192.168.81.1. Also, even though the “WiFi” LED is solid green, I do not see an SSID for it. Not really sure if it somehow got bricked but I’m dead in the water right now.

I can connect directly.

But do you say ezlo don’t care about the old users?

No, not that…just that the Vera series of controllers are very old and made by MiCasaVerde so there is limited support. I don’t expect a lot of help but since the servers needed for Vera to keep working are still up, I was hoping to get some level of response.

If you can get to your Vera Edge locally, I don’t think we’re having the same issue.

I was able to get connected to my Vera3 via wifi. I can access it via ssh but the web interface won’t load. I’m getting the “Luup engine is taking longer to reload” error message. I tried contacting support and understandbly, they no longer support them through phone or e-mail…

“We’d like to let you know that Vera3 and Vera Lite units are our legacy products that have become deprecated from the market and technical support through our official channels (phone line and email) has ended since January 01st, 2020.”

So I’m finding a good amount of people that have had the “Luup engine is taking longer to reload” over the years but have not found how to fix it.

Can’t feed mt cats via the app while at the hockey game tonight. They will be fine and eat well late. But upgrading to Elzo gear is a non-starter when they have this level of support for older gear without an announcement.

The person that replied to my support request and told me that they haven’t supported Vera3 since January, 2020 and won’t be helping me at all managed to find the time to send me another e-mail with the following message…

“We want to remain your trusted home automation system with our new generation of controllers with improved technical specs and, for that, we’re offering the possibility of acquiring this new generation by upgrading your current Vera controller (Applies to all Vera models) or an Ezlo Atom to an Ezlo controller, thus we have this option:”

And proceeded to offer me an “EzloPlus” controller for a whopping $30 discount only from their web store. But, I have to pay full price and AFTER I order it and get it set up, I need to contact them and attach a copy of my receipt and the serial number of my Vera3 and they will issue me a credit. I can get the thing for nearly the same price at Amazon. No, thank you.

I get moving on from legacy products and no longer supporting them but why keep the Vera-related servers online if you’re not going to help someone that has been a customer for 11 years that is still using it?

I knew this was coming and have been preparing to migrate to something else but I just wanted to do it on my timeline rather than a failure driving it but here we are.

I have been experiencing a variety of issues over the last week. Echo integration is extremely laggy or does not work at all, then works fine, then stops working again. Now, my Vera Plus shows online via the home.getvera.com link but my Android app still shows it as offline.

Something seems a bit fishy overall because analyzing traffic on my firewall shows just about -zero- traffic involving the Vera Plus, including the packets that would need to be sent to allow the web site to be aware that it had come online yet the web link does correctly change from offline to online once the controller restarts and reconnects to the LAN.

Same…
Ezlo , when are you fixing the app?! ETA?
And why if the status page it’s not stated this outage?!

Hello,

We are experiencing some server side issues, but our team is working to solve them as soon as possible.

We apologize for any inconvenience

Now I’m wondering if my controller offline issues were actually a server-side issue.

Since Ezlo is still supporting the backend servers necessary for the Veras to work, would you be able to help me with the "Luup engine is taking longer to reload” error message I am getting on my Vera3? After doing a factory reset, I can ssh to the controller but without the web interface, I’m not able to access my server-side backups and do a restore.
