Thank you sir.
I’m just wondering - what are the alternatives if you’re not able to control the Z-wave devices? Will they work if you have a remote that supports Z-wave? I’m planning on purchasing a Vera…bit concerned after reading few posts. Its no biggie, just need to learn what to do if you loose control of your Z-wave devices and if it would work by other means like a remote etc,?
Greatly appreciate it for sharing your experience. Thanks.
Mine has started acting up again. Every day there will be a different bunch of z wave devices that fail to configure with error code 1, presumably after doing the nightly heals. I upgraded to the latest beta software but no difference. I have done about half a dozen heals since upgrading yesterday, but after every heal, when nothing else has changed, there are typically 3 or 4 devices (not battery powered) that give the error. I don’t know how to trouble shoot the actual z wave routing beyond looking at the logs, but I can’t tell what the problem is. The only things that are really working reliably are the non z wave parts of the system ie the IP camera, the squareconnect IR blaster, and the TED5000 plugin.
I just bought a Homeseer controller today: much more expensive but I value my time. Will see how that works out. I may just keep the vera as a second system just for the non z wave components of it, but if they are supported by Homeseer I may end up selling the Vera. From others I gather that Homeseer at least has some better z wave routing tools to help troubleshoot. Vera is a black box.
