Ok from what I have seen on the web Vera seems very cool indeed. I just purchases a bunch of ACT wall sockets and switches today along with 2 Wayne-Dalton Thermostats. I am looking at Vera vs the Hawking solution. The Hawking solution I know works with the WD Thermostats. Is anyone here using Vera with the WD Stats? Also when you buy Vera do you have to buy the USB dongle or does it come with it?

So, think twice before going Hawkings.
Vera has a million advantages in the long run.
Just bought Vera for $199.00 of the website. Wish I would have found this a few days ago I could have gotten it for $149. Oh well, can wait to get it hooked up!
The whole thing is very cool.
While I don’t have many devices connected, I will and I can’t believe how willing the company is to add requested features.
Potentially, this device could do everything!
Well hopefully, I will get vera up and running today or tomorrow. I have the outlets, switches, and thermostats installed. Just waiting on the USPS to deliver it to my house.
USPS delivered Vera today. Initial impressions:
- The set up is very easy and very simple.
- When adding devices - plugging the USB stick in - Vera can sometimes be very slow in seeing new devices.
- It does control the Wayne-Dalton WDTC-20. However - The temp reading appears to be off.
