I have Vera Plus US and ZMEUUZB1(multi freq) http://z-wave.me/index.php?id=28 (Sigma Designs Serial
API)
Can i use my EU freq USB stick as primary z-wave and control EU devoce?
What you need to set up for this?
Hi there,
Yes you can. Just plug in the ZMEUUZB1 into the USB port of the Vera, and change the Z-wave port under Settings->Z-wave settings-> Options tab, to the correct one used by this type of Z-wave stick. If you don’t know which one is it, please create a support ticket so we can retrieve it from the unit itself.
Thank you for reply,
The device implements a virtual serial interface used by the Z-Wave application. Linux and Mac OSX has a built in device driver for the stick and will create a new device named like /dev/cu.usbmodemfa131 (OSX) or /dev/ttyACM0 (Linux). Windows enumerates a new COM device but may require a device driver uzb.inf available below.if i correct understand - need to change to /dev/ttyACM0,
Until I got my z-wave device, is there a way to check that the UZB stick has been defined and working? I tried to change it to / dev / ttyACM0, but when I tried to reboot the z-wave LED on the stick did not light up, as it did in the z-way server.
to my knowledge that port is used for AEON Z sticks, and only those,
Please check with our CC team as well.
i try again connect stick directly to usb( previosly i use usb extender cabel)
i see in option
Version: 4.38 L:1 Locale: US ??? ( but stick configured as EU) HouseID/Node: House: c5a7b5ae Node 1 Suc 0 Role: Master SIS: NO PRI: YES Port: /dev/ttyACM0 Last update: N/A Last Z-Wave Network Backup: 22-JUL-2017 21:25in tab Advance if i put "Copy Z-Wave network from a primary controller" or "Controller shift" - UZB stick blinking.
Oddly enough it looks to be right port.
I guess it should be working. Although I’m not sure what you want to achieve by copying the z-wave network. Why not including directly on the unit.
It will make it a lot solid setup when devices are native on the unit.
The problem is that I plan to use devices with EU frequency, and VeraPlus at me with frequency US here I also try to find the decision for change of frequency. To change VeraPlus to EU is additional costs, and I can not use US devices because of 220V.
To my understanding, from your explanation, you have an US Z-Wave version of VeraPlus and you want to use it with EU devices. For this purpose you’ve bought that EU Z-wave stick, which once plugged into the Vera unit, will basically disable the internal US chip, and enable you to use EU devices, with your unit.
Let me know if I understood this well, or is there anything else you want to achieve
Today I receive my sensors Everspring door and Fibaro fluid - all work with external UZB stick,
But my stick is ZMEUUZB1(it’s original frequency is US) and after switching stick to EU work distance is degraded. But all is work! Is a simple way to change frequency for Vera.
The only thing that might cause degraded range, is if the Z-wave stick has an inferior antenna, to the Vera’s built-in one, which most likely is the case.
The aerial in the stick is not the correct length for EU frequency, hence the degraded range. This may also cause premature failure.
A better solution would have been to use a UZB in the correct frequency, this would have the correct length antenna.
