Vera plus UI7 ask for credentials (not accepting)

Hi, i am trying to add a generic IP Camera, a Wanscam NCM630W and after adding the forms like this;

http://192.168.1.102/snapshot.cgi
Username
Password

  • i hit the “Test” button and is getting prompted to add the Username and password for my Vera Plus controller, filling in theese forms is getting nowhere, i am just getting promted witth the credential form again, and again, just like the credentials is wrong (i have tripple checked the credentials)

And also, the snapshot adress is indeed not the right one for this camera, (uses an http adress) - the info on ispy says that i must use a RTSP-adress, but does Vera supports those adresses?

/Daniel

Nope, tried yesterday and Vera is still asking for credentials, even with the latest fw that is supposed to have support for much more 3rd party cameras

Not sure if the problem is in Vera, Blue Iris or the Camera.
In this case I have successfully added the IP Camera (NEO NIP61) to the network and to Blue Iris. Great control and very happy with BI itself, but…
The Blue Iris plugin returns Invalid Camera URL. One possible problem may be that I am using the trial version of BI, but I can’t be sure. ???

Is there anyone successfully using this plugin in UI7 with any IP Camera that can confirm either way before I purchase the BI Software.?

Blue Iris works well. You can read their manuals to figure out how to set up it up in Vera. I also suggest the DVR plug-in if you have multiple camera.

Thanks, but which version are you using, Trial or Full?

I am using full because I have 4 cameras. The trial works for 1 camera.

Thank you, was there much fiddling with this or do the instructions provide a clear & quick resolution to the problem?

What is Blue Iris? Something that i have missed when trying to add my Wanscam?

Blueiris is software that you run on windows (PC) and it turns your computer into a very powerful DVR to record and control all your IP cameras. It has motion options and many options that most DVR don’t have. There is a plugin for vera and many other home controllers and blueiris plays nice in that it can have many cameras, many different motion control setting for home or away night or day or what ever you choose. It can trip virtual motion sensors in vera based off motion detection from a camera and many other things.

You can download for free from their website (also has a trail) and you can buy a license for as low as around 45-48.00 if you search the internet. It does require a good computer to run several cameras. Any old computer will not work as blueiris can hog CPU% up in a hurry. Blue Iris is a separate software for cams. Search it out on the internet and you can download a trial from their website.

*Yep, didn’t see the other reply already in place.

It took fiddling on my part because I just jump in and play/experiment but read the manual as I run into a wall ;D

Thanks for clearing out what Blue Iris is, but to clearify - i am not interested of running a computer, i wan’t direct connection to Vera.

I have sent an email to wanscamroyan as well, but have not recieved any answer yet.

i have also upgraded the fw in my Vera plus controller to the latest beta, which should support more 3rd party cameras, but i can’t see any difference in the “Add camera page”

I am thinking of getting an outdoor dome camera - is HIKvision supported?

Depends on what you considered supported. Vera is not a DVR nor does it do much with the cameras. You can stream the cameras in a better resolution if you go direct from mobile device to camera vs threw vera. Using a PIR in the camera (if your modle has it) or having the camera trigger VERA for motion directly isn’t supported. Recording to a vera isn’t supported altho there is some inscure vera cloud storage options.

It’s probley easier to tell us what you want to do with the camera in vera and we can tell you if that’s possible. But most people use some type of external DVR since vera can’t do much.

As an example, I use VeraMate and on my main page on my iPhone, it has a 4 camera composite of stills updated about every 3 seconds. Gives me a snapshot of what is happening, like if the garage man door is open, I can glance to see my wife came home but he iPhone had not yet changed from Away to Home mode. If I want to see a little better screen shot, I can open the room and the camera to see a larger version of those stills. If I want to view the stream, I have a different app for that.

Sorry for the late reply. I solved this by adding the username/password in the URL. So for my camera in 192.168.1.100 with user “login” and pw “password” I get http://login:password@192.168.1.100/video/mjpg.cgi and put that in the camera URL. I left username and password fields empty. Worked for me with a Dlink 4701E

I am having this issue with a Wansview 720P W3.

Has anyone gotten this to work?
