Vera Plus, latest firmware, restarts every 20 seconds

Help… Can’t enable remote support, occasionally able to open the web page between reboots, but the remote button does not work.

Sent Vera an email last night, waiting for a reply but this is rather bad, heating, pool maintenance, etc, etc, now all dependent on Vera and it’s not working.

In the log I have all sorts of errors such as:

Mongoose XXX-mg_stop1 0x1973a68 1 6 <0x774f4320>
Mongoose XXX-mg_stop2 0x1973a68 2 6 <0x774f4320>
Mongoose XXX-mg_stop3 0x1973a68 2 6 <0x774f4320>
Mongoose XXX-mg_stop4 0x1973a68 29167864 6 <0x774f4320>

LuaInterface::CallFunction_Timer device 148 updateRecursively took 5 seconds <0x74e65520>
FileUtils::WriteBufferIntoFile cannot write to /etc/cmh/user_data.json.lzo.new err No space left on device <0x774f4320>
UserData::WriteUserData failed <0x774f4320>

Strange behaviour started when I added or tried to add 2 Zwave-me Wall-C scene controllers and it all went very erratic, changing settings in the devices that didn’t get updated, trying to delete the devices and it didn’t work, and so on. And then, it went unresponsive and is cycling every 20 seconds. In between reboots, I sent a http call to delete device 299 which is one of those scene controllers, response was “OK” but it is still showing in the logs.

Lost, don’t know what to do, except for a factory reset. What should I try, other then waiting indefinitely for support’s reply?

Hi,

Contact support they can tell you how to make some space on the storage of your Vera as that looks to be the issue.

Cheers Rene

Right, so I reset it, all lights lights came back. To restore it I need to access it and while I initially can, via a new ip address, it then jumps into the home.getvera page and states it is offline.

Should I remove it from my account and add it back? It does scaringly say “this can not be undone”. Does that mean if I remove it I can’t add it back???

You can add it again, the warning is probably about data within the unit. But if the controller is after reset and before backup restore there is no data to be lost. Just save backup locally “just in case”

Thx all. Ended up assigning it the same LAN ip as before, router side (before I had it set statically in Vera) and it showed up in my account. Doesn’t make much sense to me but it worked and was then able to restore it to a working backup a few days old.

A bit of a scare and makes me think that it might be a good idea to have a spare unit around, ready to do a manual failover. It would be a very nice feature to show up in UI8, an automatic failover Vera. It would get them quite a few more hardware sales as well.
