I’m surprised that there are no posts for the popular Ecobee Thermostats. I understand that these are Zigbee devices and are not supported by Vera (I hope they will be supported in the new VeraPlus hub).

There is an app for Ecobee which was recently updated (v.1.4). When I installed the app the device didn’t appear. The status bar shows a “Wait …” message and is never cleared. Then Vera got very extremely slow. I couldn’t access my Apps to uninstall it. Resetting the controller didn’t help. The unit stopped responding to all commands even from the phone app. I had to restore the system to an earlier backup to get it back in operation.

Any workaround?

There is an issue with version 1.4 of the plug in, we are all standing by for Vera to solve it before we install/update to that version. I suggest monitoring that thread as I am sure it will be updated when this gets resolve.

I got past the Please Wait… crap by unchecking auto-update in the plugin settings. The device showed up and generated a pin. I went to Ecobee and added the pin. The Vera is now stuck telling me to go type the code in on ecobee.com. I already did… an hour ago.

Was this also an issue with 1.4?

Edit: Woke up this morning and it is working. It won’t show in Vera’s official UI7 android App, but it is working in Imperihome.

sorry for my late reply. For some reasons I’m not getting notifications when my post is answered.

I never got the option to enter the PIN. The device doesn’t show. I’ll try your suggestion thanks

Awesome,
I just tried again. It installed cleanly and fast. I was able to get the PIN and authorize the APP at ecobee. After a few minutes created the devices and connected.

I hope yours also work by now.
