I’m running a little Z-Wave Network with a couple of switches and sensors to test different components before i decide what to install in my whole house.
I’m also trying different controllers and in the moment my primary controller is a Raspberry Pi with DomoticZ and OpenZWave.
I tried to add Vera Edge as secondary controller but I have different Problems.
All my components were transferred from Domoticz to Vera and I can control most of them in Vera.
Unfortunately my components always lose contact to Vera. In the Moment my Dashboard shows “6 devices are no longer connected”
About one third of my components have red Banners with “Device not responding”, “ERROR: Unable to get any information on node…”, “Please wait! Getting secure classes”…
Does anyone have similar problems? What can I do? Is that an issue that just happens to secondary controllers?
I have the same thing. Vera primary, Domoticz secondary. After about a week, It just fixed itself. I love Domoticz for the floor plan. But, sadly,l also can’t get the Vera to pass update status to Domoticz without lua scripts. I will post about that problem later, when I have a chance to tinker with it.
It’s a shame there is no floorplan on Vera, or a non-apple app which supports making one. I may just un-associate all my switches in Vera and start over with Domoticz as the primary. I read it’s bad to associate the devices to a new controller without de-associating them from the old controller first.
Vera is nice if you don’t mind the lunky GUI and have time to scroll through your entire home just to find one particular light to dim. I wanted a graphical solution to see my whole 3d blurprint for each floor and touch a spot to turn that light on.
What did you end up doing?
PS I used a free 3d home making webpage called sweet home 3d. I did it from a PC with Java, and it took 1.5 hours with no drafting skills whatsoever ever. Pretty fun! Then I imported that to Domoticz as floorplan.png. it’s all in a Domoticz wiki.
