I have been having a problem with my Vera3 Iv got it hooked up at the moment to my Virgin Media Superhub, but the problem is when I restart Vera it locks up my router. So my first thought was there must be a conflict with the IP address so I gave Vera a static IP and disabled the DHCP Server along with the internal WIFI, before doing that as soon as it was plugged in it would simply lock up the router full stop.
So I really don’t understand now what is causing my router to lock up every time my Vera restarts. (I have phoned Virgin Media and they thought it could have been a problem with my router so a tech guy came out and replaced it, he also seemed baffled as to why its locking up.
Hi - does it only lock up whilst Vera restarts and then frees up after ?
What happens if it’s unplugged and vera restarts, then you plug it in ?
Have you been able to look at the router logs ?
Sounds like a layer 1 (electrical issue) as the router would be able to cope if it was at layer 2/3 or above…log files should be able to give more detail though.
You don’t mention which Vera or which firmware you are using, but this sounds like it is probably related to a Vera bug that has caused problems with other devices like FiOS setop boxes and Onkyo receivers in the past.
You can find a thread on that issue here. I linked to the trailing end, where the more accurate details exist.
