Vera - Clarification Regarding Recent Vera Cloud Invoice Notification

Hello Everyone,

We want to clarify a recent invoice that many Vera customers received and apologize for any confusion it may have caused.

Over the past several weeks, we have sent email communications explaining the upcoming Vera Cloud service changes taking effect on August 1, 2026. Unfortunately, a reminder invoice was delivered to some customers before this accompanying explanation reached them, which understandably created confusion.

The invoice was sent as a reminder that, beginning August 1, 2026, a Vera Cloud subscription will be required to continue using cloud-based features such as secure remote access and other connected services.

Receiving this invoice does not mean you have been automatically enrolled in a subscription plan, nor does it mean you have been charged. No subscription will begin unless you choose and activate a Vera Cloud plan.

In order to continue using Vera Cloud services after August 1, you will need to select and activate a Vera Cloud plan before that date. If a plan is not selected, your controller will no longer operate normally, cloud-based services—including remote access—will no longer be available after August 1.

Select a Vera Cloud Plan

We sincerely apologize that the invoice was delivered before this explanation. Our intention was simply to remind customers who have not yet selected a Vera Cloud plan that action will be required before the August 1 transition.

For additional information about Vera Cloud plans, available features, and frequently asked questions, please visit our support center or contact our Customer Care team at Support@ezlo.com or 1-866-966-2272. We’re happy to answer any questions you may have.

Thank you for being a valued Vera customer.

As clear as mud. The phone number with the invoice is disconnected. Other emails they sent said to reply with any questions. The email address is not valid (info@send.ezlo.net). They clearly do not want to hear from us.

A proper response would be that they are honoring their commitments of no monthly fees or contracts, free for life TXT, emails, APP usage. I purchased 4 Veras because of these free for life features.

What about people with a lifetime FindVera subscription? No longer honored?

Notice they say ‘self monitoring’, not '‘cloud’. Vera’s self‑monitoring model means you receive instant text, email, or app alerts when a security event occurs,

I use alerts heavily for low battery, water leak detection, a door has been opened, a motion detector has been activated, etc
Without these alerts the system is useless.

Many are now filing complaints with the FTC and local AG on these violations.

Vera Smart Home Controllers — No Monthly Fees

Vera home controllers, including the VeraEdge, VeraPlus, and VeraSecure, require no monthly fees for self‑monitoring and can be used with hundreds of compatible devices from major brands

No Monthly Fees — How It Works

Vera’s self‑monitoring model means you receive instant text, email, or app alerts when a security event occurs, without paying a recurring service fee Home Controls. This eliminates the ongoing cost of many traditional alarm companies.
Optional 24/7 Central Monitoring Service is available for a lower price than typical alarm providers, but it’s not required.

Key Features

  • Self‑monitoring with instant alerts via the Vera mobile app (iOS/Android)

  • No contracts or hidden fees — one‑time purchase, lifetime use

  • Compatibility: Works with 1,200+ Z‑Wave devices plus many Wi‑Fi brands like Nest, Schlage, Yale, Kwikset, First Alert, Philips Hue, and more

  • Control: Manage lights, locks, thermostats, cameras, sprinklers, and alarms from one app

  • Automation: Custom scenes, geofencing, schedules, and energy monitoring

Hello @DLR

Yes the number that went out on the original invoices was wrong. It has since been updated.

Could you please share with us where did you get that email addres (info@send.ezlo.net)? Our email address is support@ezlo.com

It’s the sender address. It looks like every mass marketing e-mail that comes from Ezlo is using that address.
