man i gota say… I screwed around with a cheap camera (HooToo ip 206) I bought off amazon trying to add it to the vera… nothing worked (not that i had high hopes) it’s some kind of foscam 89XX clone or something.
Anyway, I ended up with a dead “undefined” device that i can’t delete on the vera
so I installed the blueiris software on a Home Theater windows box I have, added this plugin to the vera, followed the video in the beginning of this thread, and in 5 minutes I had a working camera.
I think it’s worth paying for blue iris just to use these cheap off brand cameras.
and with this plugin it’s a breeze to get these unsupported cameras into the vera…

Let me know if you figure out how to delete it. The Blue Iris plugin works well for me too when adding a 3MP Chinese camera. I now have a vehicle sensor in my driveway (Dakota) that emails a picture to me via Vera Alerts when a vehicle is sensed. Very cool!

Just discovered the Vera. I already have Blue Iris and it works pretty well. Would this plugin allow one to use PIR z-wave motion detectors attached to the Vera system to trigger Blue Iris camera recordings?
All the talk seems to be about using the cameras motion detectors to trigger the Vera to perform a task, but I’d like to use dedicated motion detectors to trigger Blue Iris recordings due to a lot of false positives I get from trees blowing and creating moving shaded areas around my house when relying on Blue Iris to handle motion. Ideally when motion is detected via the pir motion detectors I would like for Vera to trigger Blue Iris to start recording as opposed to the other way around.
Any insight is appreciated.
Have you guys got the plugin working with Secure connection?
If so how? I have everything working just without secure connection

I am with mazer9, hoping to have a vera sensor trigger a Blueiris profile that starts all cameras recording for one minute.
I should be able to work with blue iris to make that functionality available in the future. Secure connection seems to be working good in my dev version. I plan to push it to MIos friday

Thank you for this app. Just installed on my UI6 veralite and all is working well. Just installed a hd camera and it was much easier setting up than monkeying with vera advanced settings.

Is there a way to trigger BI to start recording a camera group from a motion sensor in Vera?
I get a lot of false triggers with motion detection on the camera, but my PIR sensor for the same area is dead on. I believe you can do this with JSON, however it is over my head.
Any ideas?
I am working on making some functions available in vera for the BI server. it’s about a month out. However the secure support version should be approved any day now by MIos.

Just wondering–has anyone tried this plugin with UI7? Holding off on taking the plunge, but this plugin has quickly become mission critical for me!
I temporarily moved to UI7 and didn’t notice any glaring issues. I downgraded back to UI5 based on other issues with critical plug-in’s for me. However I didn’t test fully, but it did migrate and allow me to see an image.

Check the blue iris help docs in the app. One of the pages list how trigger the profiles via http.
Had this app up and running for several days without any problems. I install a dns server and now all I get is the little film strip without any camera feed. i have not changed any settings in the blue Iris app or in Blue Iris. The only thing is the ddns server on the router and the updater on the cameras and PC. What could be giving me this problem? I guess the next step is to uninstall the ddns server

Have you checked if you can access Blue Iris directly using the same IP set in the plugin? I’m wondering if the DNS server you installed assigned a different IP to your Blue Iris server and the plugin doesn’t know that and is still looking at the old IP address.
Make sure that the DNS server you installed, assigns a ‘static’ IP to you Blue IRis server based on that servers MAC address. I’d suggest it do the same for Vera.
Feature request:
Is there a way to send vera a notification when a camera loses signal? I have my camera’s zwave switches in the event that I need to reboot remotely. I would like to set up an automation to reboot the camera on a lost signal by sending a command to the switch to turn off and then back on.
