Vera 2 UI5 firmware location

Hello I would like upgrade my firmware from UI4 to UI5 on my Vera 2
Then eventually upgrade to Vera3 and transfer my files
I can’t seem to find the UI5 firmware, it use to be available

Thank You

http://cp.mios.com/firmware/

Thanks but it used to work that way but now it sends you to a new member register, when you sign in to your own account it directs you to your dashboard

This what is directs you to “Your unit is upgrading to the latest version. Please create an account.”

I have done upgrades before but things have changed

I will be up upgrading from a Vera 2 to Vera3 in order to use UI6

My present Vera 2 has UI4 and in order to upload files to my new Vera3 it has to be backed up in a UI5

Thank You
Bruce

If they have modified the link as a result of UI6, you will need to log a support request via Getvera.com.

I just checked the link and it seems operational:

https://cp.mios.com/firmware/

Hello yes the link is operational but when you select you get this

Your unit is upgrading to the latest version. Please create an account

Have a look here. But it may be best to contact Tech Support to see if UI4 → 1.5.408 is a valid upgrade path and if there are other concerns. (Do make backups, including Z-Wave.)

Hello Thank You I tried the update (Dashboard firmware site) but showed a invalid firmware url
As I have done this a few times before with no issues something must have changed and will call the about the issue

I did notice in the new Vera site

“We are currently in the process of transitioning our support resources from the old URL http://support.micasaverde.com/ to the thier new home at http://support.getvera.com/.

I phoned Vera and they explained that before it would automatically give the the firmware download link to upgrade a Vera2 to UI5
The old link will not work
Now you have to call in and the will send you a link for the latest UI4 and UI5 firmware if using the Vera2
You must upgrade to UI5 on your Vera2 and save to backup in order to transfer all your settings to the new Vera3
This is important to know if you are updating from Vera 2 to Vera 3

Thanks and hope this helps if your upgrading Vera3

Hi Bruce,

Please note that the last firmware version that is supported by your Vera2 is UI5.
If you want to upgrade the firmware to the latest version UI5 (1.5.622), please follow this steps:
First you will need to upgrade to the latest UI4 firmware version (1.1.1362).
Here are the steps that you will need to follow (you will need to be in the same network with your Vera):

  • from your dashboard, go to ?Advanced? icon → ?Firmware? tab
  • copy this link : http://download.mios.com/brcm_betafirmware/wl500gP_Luup_ui4-1.1.1362-en-mios.squashfs and paste it in the text box ?Advanced: URL for MiOS custom firmware?.
  • then press the ?download? button and choose to keep the settings;
  • after you click on ?start? you should wait more than 20 minutes until the upgrade is done. (power, z-wave and eth1 must be solid after the upgrade).
After that you will have the latest UI4 firmware version (1.1.1362).
Then to upgrade to UI5, please follow the steps:
  • from your dashboard, go to ?Advanced? icon → ?Firmware? tab
  • copy this link : http://download.mios.com/brcm_betafirmware/wl500gP_Luup_ui5-1.5.622-en-mios.squashfs and paste it in the text box ?Advanced: URL for MiOS custom firmware?.
  • then press the ?download? button and choose to keep the settings;
  • after you click on ?start? you should wait more than 20 minutes until the upgrade is done. (power, z-wave and eth1 must be solid after the upgrade).

Also you shouldn?t do the upgrade remotely because it might be required a reboot in order for the unit to re-connect to Internet.

Please let me know how it goes.

Thanks for posting back. That’s great that they got back to you with an official upgrade path (i.e. via the latest UI4 to the latest UI5).

And us.

Thanks upgrade to UI5 went perfect

Bruce

Thanks again. Created a sticky to point to the instructions you received.

Did they also tell you how to migrate your Vera 2 config to Vera 3?

@Brewster201- Thanks for posting those directions. Upgrade went well. Odd error message came up telling me that it failed to connect to the server. But then I reloaded my webpage and it all looked good and worked perfectly.

Now I’ve just got to get used to a new interface!

I am moving from vera2 to vera lite. My vera2 is on UI4 1.1.1350 and says that this is the latest firmware. But I have read that I have to go to 1.1.1362 and then upgrade to UI5. When I copy the link http://download.mios.com/brcm_betafirmware/wl500gP_Luup_ui4-1.1.1362-en-mios.squashfs into the firmware download window it says it cannot be found, but I can download it to my laptop just fine. How do I update? Is there a way to update with a file that is located on my laptop?

I very much appreciate that you posted this info as I was stuck. Long story short, Vera Support soft bricked my Vera 2 last month. I had to follow instructions http://wiki.micasaverde.com/index.php/Firmware_Flash_Vera2 to flash firmware (had to fire up an old XP machine) and then upgrade UI4 to latest from the UI4 version. Then was unable to upgrade to UI5. I knew a custom URL method would be needed, and this was about the only thread that had the info posted. UI4 URL and UI5 URL provided worked perfectly. This saved me getting Vera Support on the line again. I still have some work left in order to validate that my Vera 2 is back to a normal working state. Thanks again.
