Vera 2 to Vera 3 Update problems Automator still shows 2 units on Account

OK so I upgraded and them removed the old Vera 2 from account using: http://veraIP/cgi-bin/cmh/remove_ra.sh

Automator still shows both Vera units on account although successfully removed from Mios. Anything I can do to fix this?

I tried Deleting the APP and reinstalling but no luck.

Assuming the device is no longer on the network a clean install of Automator should prevent it from appearing. Otherwise the knowledge of it’s existence won’t be forgot.

Yes its no longer on the system. I deleted the app and then reinstalled it but it still shows up.

This means the mios.com servers are still reporting it. I’m not sure how long it takes for a box to disappear from their directory.

Ok I guess I’ll wait. Funny thing is on Mios it only shows the new Vera 3. The old one is not listed. I’m sending the old box back to them for the upgrade offer. Hopefully this will not last forever.

If you still have your Vera 2 before you send it back.
Log on to that unit and remove the your User ID

If Vera 2 was UI5 click on Account > Other Users and log in.
Click on the red X to delete User ID

If Vera 2 was UI4 toto cp.mios.com and log in.
Select your old unit and try to delete User ID and then click ok

Check http://sta1.mios.com/locator_json.php?username=YOUR_USERNAME from your home network. Does the old unit still appear?

Make sure that the unit is not plugged in. It should not show up after the unit is powered off. I had to do this to my Vera 2 which I gave away.

The unit is unpluged and ready to pack to be sent back to Micasaverde. It is no longer powered. I tried

http://sta1.mios.com/locator_json.php?username=YOUR_USERNAME

And both units show up. Why since I removed it? I’ll try and logging in to the old unit (UI5)

Here is what I did: I plugged the unit back in and removed my self as user – Didn’t work
I factory reset – Didn’t work
I changed the name of unit — didn’t work
I changed to different static ip – didn’t work
I added unit to different account then unplugged – didn’t work

Not sure what else to try.

I get this. Unit 10724 is what I’m trying to remove.

“units”:[{“serialNumber”:“10724”,“FirmwareVersion”:“1.5.408”,“name”:“HOME”,“ipAddress”:“192.168.1.163”,“users”:[],“active_server”:“fwd2.mios.com”,“forwardServers”:[{“hostName”:“fwd2.mios.com”,“primary”:true},{“hostName”:“fwd1.mios.com”,“primary”:false}]},{“serialNumber”:“30004053”,“FirmwareVersion”:“1.5.408”,“name”:“Khalid Home”,“ipAddress”:“192.168.1.45”,“users”:[“dratifk”],“active_server”:“fwd1.mios.com”,“forwardServers”:[{“hostName”:“fwd1.mios.com”,“primary”:true},{“hostName”:“fwd2.mios.com”,“primary”:false}]}]}

Going to try to set my router to default settings

Use the command to remove the unit from the servers. Unplug the unit. You’ll need to give the servers time to remove from your list of Vera’s. It will eventually get removed.

I used the command line with no affect
I defaulted the router as well but still shows. At this point nothing else to try. I submitted a ticket so I’ll see what happens.

Very annoying.

You need to be patient. Hence the reason I said do the procedures again and wait. It may take a day or so.

The reason it still appears is that it has contacted MCV’s servers from your external ip address recently. So anytime you you access their locator service from your house while having the same external ip MCV remembers your old box was previously located there and shows it in the directory. This has nothing to do with your mios username either.

After some time MCV will forget about your box and it will disappear if it hasn’t connected from your same external ip in some time. I suspect it is a matter of weeks not days.

To speed this up there are two things you could do. 1. Get a new external ip. Try rebooting your cable modem or dsl modem. You may get assigned a new ip, but you may get the same one again. 2. Get the old mios to connect from a different ip. Take it to a neighbor’s house and plug it in for a while. Then the directory will I longer associate that box with your external IP.

Thanks for the suggestions I’ll give it a try.
