Using events to trigger http

Hi,

I could see the great benefit if it was possible in events to additionally specify a http command to be sent when the event occurs.

Example:
I would like to send a http command to my SONOS system when I press a certain button on my remote. This would enable me to bridge MCV to my other ‘systems’…

It should be very easy to implement. Would you consider adding this feature?

Anker

That’s great idea, I think I’ve already asked for something like this in very first posts on this forum.
Event triggering http post would be highly useful, particularly for ways of notification that aren’t commonly used, geolocation updates, integration with other systems, etc.

And it’s not complicated to implement, is it?

I would third that request/ability.

I fourth that motion

We’ll do it as soon as we flush out all the bugs in the current feature set. http://bugs.micasaverde.com/view.php?id=338

I know you guys must be 120% busy with LUA, but… any idea when possibly you could do this idea above?

Here’s one of the interesting possibilities this feature could open:

To put it simple, on event Vera would post http://pbxes.org/alias?n=destinationnumber, which would trigger the system to connect you, and the destinationnumber.
