Using a Zooz Zen16 as a garage door opener

I just set up a Zooz Zen16 and Ecolink tilt sensor to act as a garage sensor. It is extremely easy to set up in Vera.

A few notes:

  1. You have to install the Garage Door app in UI7 and you have to code the app with the device numbers for your relay and the tilt sensor. The instructions above will walk you through it.

  2. When wiring the relay to the opener, you simply wire in parallel to the original wiring going to the opener.

  3. I use a standard Chamberlain garage door opener, nothing fancy.
