USB Ports

No info on search about this…

Can I have more than 2 USB devices on a Vera3

I have my AD2USB and a PLM for X10

and while I don’t plan on anything right now… I’m generally easy to sway into buying a cool toy

Can a powered hub be used to expand ports ?

Yeah, lots of people have reported success with USB hubs. (Search the forum for “USB Hub”.)

The big caveat, on a Vera3, is that you may need either a powered hub or a larger power supply.

Mine was failing using the shipped wall-wart, a bus powered 4port hub and one USB Serial port. This is the config I had on my Vera 2, and it worked a charm, but the V3 power supply couldn’t give enough current to supply the config.

Mine is not powered and I use it on the VeraLite to connect the PowerMax and the RFXtrx. It is working but the receiving capabilities of the RFXtrx are reduced, probably because the RFXtrx is not enough powered.
So a powered model is probably a better choice.

My VeraLite could not power the USB hub which I was using with Vera2. It has 3 rs232 dongles connected to it and a USB-UIRT.

I am now using a Dlink DUB-H7 powered USB hub, and everything works nicely with VeraLite’s original power supply unit
