USB Light Constantly blinking with PLM and Alsteon

Just wondering if everyone running Altsteon with the PLM is experiencing similiar behavior with their USB light. Mine blinks continuously but everything works fine, Altsteon is running and everything functions. Also when I look at the Connection tab on the PLM it has an indicator bar that continuously says opening serial connection. Just wondering if everyone else experiences these nuances with this setup. Thanks

Do you have the built in insteon on vera enabled? Under Settings → Insteon support? If so turn it off of you are using altsteon.

The LED on my Vera3 also blinks constantly. I’m not sure why it does that, but I can assure you Altsteon isn’t sending and receiving data that frequently. Since the Vera is in my basement and everything else seems to work I have not worried about it. If I were to guess, it is probably intended to be a warning that the Vera software itself isn’t controlling the port. But, that is just a guess.

The indicator bar that continuously says opening serial connection is a new one to me. If it is in the status window at the top of the screen, then it may just be that the window isn’t getting updated so the status hangs around. It could also be that you didn’t disable the native Insteon support. If that native support is enabled at the same time as Altsteon you will get strange behavior.

I think he means this one, in the PLM device. It didn’t bother me, so I never worried about it.

Interesting. My Vera doesn’t do that. I find that usually when that bar comes up it is because something in the javascript for that tab is broken. But it is weird that it happens for others but not me.

What is supposed to be shown on that page is basically the same serial port information that you set up in other places. So not having it isn’t really going to cause a problem. It is just annoying.

I do not have the native insteon support enabled. My screen looks like PurdueGuy’s screenshot and My Vera’s USB light blinks continuously, but everything seems to work. I was just curious if others were experiencing the same phenomena.
