I upgraded my Vera 3 to 1.7.541, Last version of UI5 to the newest version of UI7. After watching the change logs for a while, I finally felt it was stable enough to use.
My Remotec Dry Contact Fixture Module is not appearing. A lamp module and a switch did not appear either, but a simple re-pair and they showed right back up. With the Remotec, not so much. I have taken the Vera 3 on a battery out to the module and it looked like it paired (fast flashing zwave light on the Vera after pressing the PROG button on the relay). But then I would go back inside, plug it in, and it didn’t show up on my device list.
I tried AGAIN, left the internet plugged in and brought the relay to the Vera and tried to add it via the web interface. It would find it, then not add it to my device list.
I uninstalled ALL apps, and tried a re-pair, nothing. I restored the backup file I made before the UI7 upgrade and all of my devices showed up, except the relay.
What is going on here?
After messing with this all weekend, I have given up for now. Even on a freshly defaulted UI7 install, my Dry Contact Module would not show up, at all.
I decided to do without the dry contact for a few days to see what UI7 could do. What a hair pulling experience that was. My Vera 3 crashed several times over a two day period (non-responsive, or no z-wave network connectivity). What finally finished UI7 off for me was after the final crash, it wouldn’t connect to ANY of my zwave devices after restart. They all couldn’t be contacted.
I pulled the main breaker to my house for a few minutes, wiped my Vera 3 for what had to be the 11th time over the weekend, and started to re-pair my devices. Not a single device would even be recognized by the Vera while I was trying to pair it. That was it. Bye bye my dream of Geofencing.
UI5, my old friend, did you miss me?
Why do you need ui7 for geofencing? Most of us have been using geofence for years and the solutions are way better then ui7 geofencing. ui7 only does one person to.
If your on Andriod use “VERA Proximity” and if your on iOS (feel sorry for you) use “VERAMATE”. Allows alot more options and multi users.
How have I never heard of this?!
Exactly what I needed. Thank You!
I can forgo the prettyness of UI7 now, that’s all it has going for it…
P.S. Yes, I have android

There is a section in the fourm if you have questions getting it setup.
I dug around and only found this thread:
http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php?topic=24896.0
Was this the thread you were referring to? I am actually having two issues:
#1 I set a fence with a radius of .5 miles (1, even 2 miles didn’t change it). I set my arriving to run a scene to turn my lights on and turn up the heat. I set my leaving to lower the heat, turn off the lights, and make sure my doors are locked. I was home the majority of today, and the thing kept triggering the arriving scene multiple times an hour until I finally got sick of it and disabled the app.
#2 Deleting a fence crashes the app on my Android 4.4 Galaxy S5. I had to clear data and re-setup to get rid of it.

Most of use use it to run a multi switch. Then you can have the multiswitch do what you need. I actually use both a geofence and a ping sensor then only run home or away when more then one are active.
My smallest fence is set to .05 and I have some rapid update fences set to .55 on my NOTE4.
If you have it set to .5 and your bouncing out then you have some serious GPS issues with your phone.
Make sure in your phone under settings, location, mode you have it set to high accuracy. In the Vera Proximity app settings, you can click “use sensors”. This will watch some of your phones internal motion sensors to prevent false triggers if it hasn’t sensed your phone is moving around. Like if its sitting still on a table.
Start by having it only do local alerts if your having problems. It will beep on your phone when you enter or exit only. If your still having problems in the Vera Proximity settings at the bottom under “debug level”, you can turn on debug, use it for awhile, then after trouble, click email debug log and send it to either yourself or leave Richards default email in there and explain what your problem is and he can help when he gets a chance. You can also post it and we can look at it. Most of the time this is for no change, due to reception, network, or license issues. Excessive movement is really outside the apps control. (Your Phones GPS)
You phone uses cell tower triangulation for its position. Do you live in an area with good cell reception? Watch the map when your having issues and see where it thinks you are. It’s only as reliable as your phones position says it is.
After enabling the “Use Sensors” checkbox and setting Rapid Update to 1:00, I have had ZERO false entry’s/exits. This has turned out to be exactly what I was looking for.
