Unable to read stream - using BlueIris

I use BlueIris to bridge my VeraLite to my DVR. I can view the streams just fine on the ImperiHome Dashbord view, however, when I tap on a widget, I receive an “Unable to read stream” message. I have tried both remote and local modes with no change. Any ideas?

No ideas on this? I can’t be the only one using ImperiHome with cameras.

Found the answer! I’ll leave it here for anyone looking in the future -

It is the streaming URL that needs to be configured.

yesterday I bought the app for my tablet i want to hang on the wall … I am very impressed with the dashboard possibilities :o

My cameras are all hooked up to a computer running blue iris and I have followed the steps some posts above to view the cameras on vera. The camera does not show on the GUI with all the other devices (it says camera not responding) , but when i click it, it does show me the image of the camera. So I guess it is working.

But Imperihome does not show the camera image… it just says "error updating… " on the dashboard and when I click it on the “normal” page it says “unable to read stream”

Anyone has an idea what’s wrong?

Thanks,
Cor

This may not entirely pertain to your setup, but I’ll tell you what I have.

I have an el cheapo DVR that only has 1 IP address. I use Blue Iris to read the streams from that IP and give me individual URLs for each camera. For example, lets say my DVR is IP is 192.168.25.100. I configure Blue Iris to connect to it and Blue Iris acts as a web server. So my Blue Iris PC IP is 192.168.25.150. Now all my cameras are available at http://192.168.25.150/image/cam1, http://192.168.25.150/image/cam2. etc.

Now, after I have configured the DVR plugin in Vera with the IP of my Blue Iris server (192.168.25.150) and the number of cameras - in my case, 8 - then I have 8 camera devices in the dashboard. I configure each device on the Advanced tab as follows:

URL: /image/cam1
DirectStreamingURL: /mjpg/cam1/video.mjpg

Imperihome uses the /image/cam1 URL for dashboard view and the /mjpg/cam1/video.mjpg URL for the fullscreen viewing when clicked.

Hope that helps!

@ qwen3579: ahh ,I see, I think I got it similar. I am not interested in clicking the tab for full screen mode , than I will just revert to the blue iris app. I would like to view the streaming in the Dashboard when possibe. Like you (If I read your post well) I have the image on the dashboard with the same direct link to blue iris, which refresh itself every 1 minute ( shortest time period you can select).

But when I select the blue iris webserver (+all cameras) , I do see all cameras ( including the clips and alerts) in a streaming mode. So there must be a way to view only 1 camera via the webserver , and not as an image.

I was hoping setting the camera as a device would show the streaming on the dashboard in Imperihome.

Thanks,
Cor

I have developed a vera blue iris cam plugin with Snapshot and Streaming Support, PTZ and Motion sensor support
