UE Smart Radio to Squeezebox

First week with my Vera… I have a Squeezebox Radio that is running the UE Smart Radio software. There’s an option that allows me to convert it back to Squeezebox and use the mysqueezebox.com

Going back to Squeezebox and not using the UE Smart Radio android app is a big step down; I was curious if in the future the plugin will work with the UE Smart Radio? Not sure I can handle the Squeezebox android app anymore.

There are many other squeezebox apps for android out there. I personally use SqueezeCommander. It looks like I am the only current active maintainer of the Squeezebox plugin. Unfortunately I will not touch anything that uses the new UE Smart Radio platform. I believe the move Logitech made with the new platform his a huge mistake and a limiting one at that. I have many squeezebox radios in my house including multiple raspberry pi’s running squeezelite and will not be looking at using anything else any time soon.

Ahhh, I actually did use SqueezeCommander back in the day. I’ll have to give it a whirl again. Thanks man

First weeks with Vera, a lot to learn.

I have a UE SmartRadio which I converted to Squeezebox after finding out about the possibility to control it via Vera.

I installed the latest files from http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,9451.msg140226.html#msg140226.

Have been reloading, rebooting over and over… I do have ‘SqueexeBox Controller’, but it doesn’t find the actual SqueezeBox. I seem to have the problem that telneting to ip:9090 does not answer, either. Then the plugin cannot work, am I right?

Just wondering how I could proceed? Getting TTS to work would be, well, just cool 8)

Thanks!

The plugin will only work if you have the Logitech Media Server running. Do you have this installed or are you trying to get the plugin to connect to the player directly (this will not work).

Thanks for the info. Yep, I was trying to control the actual UE SmartRadio (converted to SB) directly. Hope your reply helps other users at some point, too.

Raspberry Pi has a new task, onwards with that adventure…

Installed SqueezePlug to the RPi and ran Logitech Media Server. Squeezebox plugin works now, excellentos.

Hmmm, next, more Squeezeboxes to cover the whole house. Just wonder how to set them up to NOT use excessive electricity while 99.99 % of the time they are not in use.
