Trane thermostat and energy usage not whorking

HELP! I have a simple system of the new Trane thermostat and the Vera2 controller. That is it. I have the thermostat working remotely just fine, but I can not get the Vera2 to give me energy usage when I remootely log in. I went to the field where you put in the three wattages for heat, cool, and fan. I saved it. It stays saved. But I have been 24 hours now, and when I go to Energy Usage on the startup page, it gives not enough information for pie chart, or not enough data points, depending on what I try to retrieve. Have I missed anything? I have not added any plugins or altered the default settings except for the wattage input.
Thanks, :-\

Are you on the latest firmware? (1245)

Yes it updated when it installed.

I was not aware it performed this function. Please post your findings. As an fyi, this thermostat has a hidden services menu which has the ability to enable a built in schedule. I find it better to control the schedule via the thermostat and use vera to remotely poke it when needed.

Hi!
I am having the same problem with my CT-30.
Have you ever solved this problem??

Flo

It is a known issue and will be fixed in the next firmware release.

Man… :frowning:

Thanks Garett!

I have three GE IS-ZW-TSTAT-100 Z-wave thermostats, which are made by Radio Thermostat. I chose them because they were around $50 each, new on eBay. Installed them 15 days ago along with my new VeraLite, and entered the “Energy Used” for all three 'stats in the “X,Y,Z” format per Vera instructions. The VeraLite firmware was upgraded to the latest (July 4, 2012) version. Basically these thermostats appear to work OK with Vera. I have Vera set to wait at least 30 seconds between polling my 18 AC-powered z-wave devices.

Nothing regarding energy usage of these thermostats was reported on the web page display until yesterday, when ONE of them began showing the current wattage in the lower left area of the control panel for that device. When the AC for that zone is on, it correctly shows “2000 W” and when it’s off it shows “0 W”.

It’s curious that only one of the three thermostats’ energy usage is displayed. As I mentioned above, all three have the wattage numbers programmed in UI5. The one that is correctly reporting happens to have the smallest Vera ID number.

Another thing that is a bit irregular with these GE thermostats and Vera: when the 'stat is in cool mode and I manually adjust the cooling temperature setting at the thermostat, the heating temperature setting is changed to a seemingly arbitrary new value. If I adjust the cooling temperature via the computer/Vera, the heating temperature setting is unaffected. This is a relatively minor annoyance since the heating setting is irrelevant during the summer and vice versa.

I’ll be looking forward to the next firmware upgrade.
