Toddler/Child Door Lever Lock for Schlage Lever Locks (Baby Proofing)

Hi Guys,

I have a few Z-Wave Schlage Lever locks for our external doors. We need to baby proof these as they are always unlocked on the inside. Can anyone recommend a good lever lock to prevent a child from opening the door?

Thanks!

You aren’t going to find a built in solution with a baby safety feature because they represent a safety hazard to occupants in the house if there is a fire etc, and lock manufactures are fearful of liability if folks get trapped in their house. So you have to look for a lock that you can add one of those lose plastic grips on the inside. That means you need a round knob on the inside.

I really don’t know of any z-wave locks that have a round knob on the inside. There are some keypad locks that do have a round knob, but I haven’t seen any that are even wifi ready let along zwave.

Research keypad locks round knob to see some options.

This might work

The other option would be a latch lock at the top of the door.

I bought one of those off Amazon, I’ll see if I can get it to work. It’s going to have to stick to the lock itself instead of the door, maybe it will work.
