I cannot figure out how the follwoing timer function works when adding a scene:
time: Before sunet (and also with after)
h:m:s: what do i enter here?!?!?
What I wanted was to create a scene to turn on lights 15 minuters after sunset en turn them off again **30 minutes before sunrise
What i did was:
time: Before sunet h:m:s: 00:15:00
But this is not 15 minutes before sunset.
So how so I set this correctly, if (h:m:s) is just a time to switch then I do not under stand the options before or after sunset etc, they have in this case no function at all.
Could please someone explain to me what I am doing wrong and why this is not working?
It works the way you think it works. So you specify a time offset. (Note that it only goes up to 6 hours. So definitely not an absolute time; which as you said, of course, does not make sense.)
So as Ap15e said, verify your location settings. Verify the time. Verify you have the proper days checked in the event.
I just did it a quick check for my location and put an after sunrise time in so that the light would come on in 5 minutes. It did.
At sunrise and sunset works normal, this is what i already used.
I wanted to change this into 15 minutes before sunset instead of at sunset.
I made a new scene and at my surprise my lights where ON when I stood up this morning, lights should go on 15 minutes before sunset.
So the new scene run after sunrise (there is an other scene/timer running witch switches all lights of at sunrise), all is set correctly. Also location and system time is correct. Other timers run without a problem.
??? So at least they come on at some point. Depending on whether you got up before or after sunrise, there may be a problem with switching them off? Please re-state what you want and what does not work. You verified time and location; that’s clear.
when I use: 15 min before/after then it they work but no idea when
I just test again, today at sunset NO lights came on, it was set 15 before sunset.
2 hours later still no lights on, i had to switch them on runnign the scene manually from remote location
(i have a ip cam installed to monitor)
I have been using lighting scenes that fire 15 minutes before sunset for over 6 months with little to no problems. The only time the did not fire is when my network resets and I get an occasional IP address conflict that ties things up. It has only happened once or twice, but rebooting all of my network routers and the moden in the correct sequence has always fixed the problems. I believe it happens when the electric ‘blinks’ since I no not yet have all of these devices on an UPS.
