I have an existing Ademco Vista 20P with hardwired motion and window sensors that I would like to incorporate with a Vera. I don’t have the installer code for the Ademco system. Can I still interface it with the Vera or am I better off purchasing a DSC board and going that route? If so which DSC system would be preferable to purchase?

Maybe you can get the Honeywell reset to defaults? I’d consider that first before going to the effort of replacing. At least if you do need to replace, perhaps go with a Vista again for ease of setup?

Thanks for the info, it looks like I can pull the installer code from the ademco. Is it a fairly easy process to tie it in with a Vera?

Not sure as I would say anything with Vera is not exactly easy, but it shouldn’t be too bad. You’ll want to start by looking at the best way to connect since there are two plugins:

This requires hardware purchase for the ad2usb module.

This one is native if your panel has RS232 already.

Did you try all the “tricks” to figure out the installer code?
