Hi, I already have a Veraedge and am happy with it. But now I am thinking to buy a Hue bridge and some lights. Maybe Philips, maybe IKEA.
I have some questions…
How stable is the HUE bridge in Vera with this ALTHue app?
Is the status of the Philips lights correct? What if I turn on a light with a hue remote, is that status correctly displayed in Vera?
What if a lamp can’t be reached, will the status still be off in Vera?
When a IKEA light is connected to the HUE Bridge, is the status correct in HUE app and in Vera? For example, if a IKEA light can’t be reached? What is the status in Vera and HUE app when I turn it on in Vera?
In September (Dutch) IKEA comes with screens which can be controlled also with Zigbee. Anyone have an idea if that could be done with Philips Hue bridge? I really would like to control them with my Vera.
Can’t answer all your questions, but maybe some…
I have a Hue Bridge connected to a Vera Secure. I only use lights (about 25) from IKEA.
I must say it´s very stable. 2-3 times a year something´s not right with one of them (not responding) - and thats usally solved by turning the specific light off and on (with a physical switch).
If it can´t be reached, I think the message in Vera is “Out of reach” or something similair. That almost never happens to me. It´s more common that it´s not responding.
Yes, it’s shows the right status in Vera if you also use the Hue app to control the lights.

– Ikea lights operate like any other hue device its just protocol based not manufacturer based

–more than likely not phillips uses ZigbeLL and some ZigbeeHA most ZIgbeeHA devices are not compatible with hue bridge so in short, No
i currently have 2 hue bridges with about 80 devices
So for no HUE yet. I still want to use the switches already present. So placing a Fibaro behind it is still the best solution to me. Of course the switch is a bit changed to make it momentary.
