things to keep in mind while installing veralite in UAE

hi , i went to micasaverde 's website to purchase the veralite where it shows veralite US version . is there an european version or should i need to keep an eye open for a special instructions to use the same device that is for US that can be used here to ?( by here i mean Dubai )
thanks in advance

Yes, there is an european version. And also some other localized versions (Australia, Hong Kong etc). However, I do not know which suits the UAE rules. I think the difference is mainly in the frequency the radio system has, and this has to match the local rules for what frequency is to used for what purpose.

I am reasonably sure that UAE requires the use of the European versions of Z-Wave products which use 868MHz and 220 Volts/50 cycles(Hz).

American Z-Wave products will not work nor be legal in the UAE. U.S. versions of Vera use 908.42MHz and 110 Volts/60 cycles(Hz).

UAE: 868.4 MHz
same as europe indeed

Did you see this possibly useful thread on UAE too … ?

mcv should put a better search-engine on this forum as the only topic that comes up is this one :slight_smile:

There is a search engine: LMGTFY - Let Me Google That For You

yup something like that but then native in this forum

yup something like that but then native in this forum
The main issue is that the Forum's Search field, when used from within a specific sub-board, will only search that sub-board.

When users are in the wrong sub-board (like, say, “General”), then uses of the search function, from within General, only search there.

When users nav to the forum root and run the same search, it covers a much broader set of the overall forum (but the UI doesn’t indicate that, at least not clearly)

Not perfect, but it does work a lot better.

To get a sense of this, try using the Search field from each of these starting addresses, using a criteria of “UAE”:

[ul][li]Getting Started - http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/board,31.0.html[/li]
[li]Forum Root - http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php[/li][/ul]

Mind you, I still prefer @chixxi’s link 8)

You really need to make this your signature. :slight_smile:

you can buy from http://zwaveeurope.com/

still sucks ::slight_smile:

yup so do i but then this version https://www.google.com/search?btnG=1&pws=0&q=site%3Aforum.micasaverde.com+
as i dont want to insult anyone ;D

…I didn’t want to insult anyone, if I did, sorry!

I just like lmgtfy.com since it also includes that little hint “you could have achieved this yourself”… ;D And it is in my signature since a couple of weeks.

;D me too, but some ppl (noobs) i know got mad when i did. you be supprised how many people dont know all the google possibilities. like currency converter, using it as calculator, searching sites, search on particular date, etc. in fact i know a lot of people how dont even know how to get to the help page of google explaining all these features lol

@Da_JoJo,
Too many people think of Google as a simply an appliance to just search for things, and they can’t be bothered to learn how to do anything more than type the question and hit search.

@chixxi,
I may have been suffering from “functional illiteracy” and didn’t pay attention to your signature. :slight_smile: The problem is, how many people will ignore it and still go with the simplest route (path of least resistance) of asking someone else?
:slight_smile:

@SOlivas yes thats how it is. most ppl lack also the skill to do so and dont want to learn it as they have other occuppying business in life which consumes all their time. ignorance is bliss and the easiest way is just to post a question which most of the time get answered and satisfies the need. its like you have a car and after finding out the radio doesnt do what they expected they start calling support to yell at them the crap thing doesnt work ok before reading the manual lol.
