Text Messages Not Working

I just got a VeraLite 3, running UI5, and I haven’t had any luck with notifications via text message. Email works no problem, but no luck with getting text messages. I’ve tried the following formats:

123-456-7890

1234567890

1-123-456-7890

11234567890

I have sprint. I also have a google voice number, but as I understand it, because there is no email address, this won’t work.

Anybody have any ideas? Perhaps I should just setup my text message email address as the email… but I think the messages would be too big.

Same here…

I too have Sprint with Google Voice integration. No texts for the last month +… wondering if it’s a text spam filter or if there’s something broken with Mios…

Look at VerAlert (Under the Remote Control Board) for Android Notification and GVoice notification.

Yeah, I looked briefly at it yesterday. It looks complicated to integrate. Sounds like I’ll have to add LUUP code for every alert. I was hoping to get built in notifications to work, but it sounds like veralert will give me a better control and more feature… hopefully its not too difficult to setup.

Its actually pretty easy to setup. I’m running it and set it up to send me messages off of certain scenes. You just have to select veralert and input the id number off your cell app and enter the message you want it to send. For me I get the veralerts alot faster than the text messages or email.

Would be great if they could implement PUSH notifications for their iPhone App =)

strange… i tried getting veralert to work using the UI5 files, but when I try to upload them, it says ‘upload successful’, but they never appear in the list.

also, it looks like i won’t be able to setup an alert for each time a given person enters the door, unless I setup a specific scene for each person with a trigger of a given code being entered.

I have some improvements to VerAlert to make once I can get UI5 on my Vera2.

I will look into adding an option for the the Alert Destination (Text, or VerAlert) in the Notifications page.

A Notification is implemented as a Scene under the hood. Each one is a separate scene. The Notification name gets translated into a Scene name.

Currently it would be a pain to if I had a lot of pin codes, and worse coupled with multiple locks.

I have a Vera3 and my text messaging just started working! No clue why (I have Sprint)
