If anyone knows were to buy this, please post here. Can’t seem to find it anywhere, and I can’t be the only one !
The have it for sale at 007systems.
Yes, 007Systems added it to their site recently. It seems like Telguard primarily provides product to installation services who can then sell whole packages. They have told me they would compile a list of retailers (like 007Systems) who will sell directly to the public. We can then decide who makes the most sense to buy from based on whatever factors we choose to include.
We have it available on our site: http://www.asihome.com/ASIshop/product_info.php?products_id=5226.
They are in-stock and you will receive Free Shipping on this item.
Pricing has been lowered and still Free Shipping (while supplies last.)
Just ordered yesterday afternoon at the original price. If only I had waited…

No worries, this will be taken care of.
Thanks for the heads-up Barry.
Make your GDC1 look like a Garage Door instead of a switch in UI7.
Use at your own risk. I put this together personally and it works for me.
Device_type: urn:schemas-micasaverde-com:device:GarageDoorController:1
Device_File: D_TelguardGDC1.xml
Device_JSON: D_TelguardGDC1.json
(If you don’t know how to use the above you should consider if you want to use it)
Quick steps:
[ol][li]Add the GDC1[/li]
[li]Go to Apps->Develop Apps->Luup Files[/li]
[li]Drag and drop the files to the entry box[/li]
[li]Click Upload[/li]
[li]Now go to the GDC1’s Advanced Tab and cut and paste the above values to the proper fields[/li]
[li]The GDC1 will now be a garage door icon with Open-Close lingo instead of On-Off[/li][/ol]

Shawn
I was hoping this would work for UI5 as well so I took a chance and performed the change on my UI5 Vera setting Device_type and Device_File to the values specified by Shawn after uploading the 2 files attached to his post. I could not locate an entry for the JSON file. The effect was not quite as desired as the GDC1 device decided to completely disappear after the SAVE and subsequent LUUP reload. OOPS!
Luckily yesterday’s backup restored the old version. I’m donna leave it alone for now as I’m at work and would like to retain the ability to open my garage door when I get home tonight.
I may have to move the GDC1 from my UI5 to my UI7 Vera./
Well I followed Shawn’s steps above, and now I have a shiny new icon. (Picture attached.) I wonder if the MiOS folks could just incorporate this into one of the UI7 releases?
On another note, I seem to be having issues with the Android App. The entry is there, but it’s icon is the generic z-wave logo with an on/off switch. The switch shows proper status (on or off for opened or closed). Unfortunately, the switch seems inoperable in the app GUI.
Does anybody have any experience with this yet. I’m running the latest Vera app, and UI7.
Thanks.

I hope this review helps anyone thinking of buying one. If you have any questions about it, feel free to give me a shout eric - at- myzwave.net

I just tested it and if you use the GDC1 without my JSON and device files it works in the APP but looks like a light bulb. Apparently, my JSON / Device hack looks right in the portal, but the App doesn’t handle it properly.
You’ll need to ditch the GD look and feel and stick with the bulb for it to work on the app. Sorry.

Shawn
