TCP/IP Ports for Vera communications LAN & Internet conflicts

I have not received my Vera Lite as yet but I’m planning for the installation. According to what I’ve read, Vera uses IP Port 80 for all communications.

I have ATT Uverse with the impossibly inflexible 3801HGV Router. My current network has a web server, mailserver, DNS operating on it. I have static IP assignment on my UVERSE and right now use a single IP address and port mapping soaALL accesses to Port 80 flow to the existing web server (192.168.xxx.xxx). When I put Vera in, any communications TO Port 80 is going to flow to the existing web server so I doubt that Vera is going to work.

Is it possible to reassign the web access port on Vera? Most devices that support web browser management can do this for external management by configuring it to use some other port (port 8080, 7080, etc) to the new device to avoid conflicts with exiting port 80 web server assignments.

Not a problem, your Vera will open a SSH(?)tunnel to the mios servers and they will redirect traffic to your vera via the tunnel. Local access will go directly to the Vera. If you dont want to use the mios tunnels you need to implement a VPN solution, there is NO local security in the Vera so please do not forward a port directly from the internet.

Thanks, that’s a relief
