SRICAM Help

Has anyone had luck using the SRICAM wifi cameras? I’m trying one of the outdoor models and found the following:

When trying to set up, I used the generic camera option. The URL for the images was set to: /snapshot.cgi

This setup “sort of” works. When I initially set up with Vera running UI5, I didn’t see the confirmation image that it was set up. I decided to leave it anyway. When I went to the UI5 interface, I see no image, but since I set it to snap a picture every 5 minutes, there is an archive and the photos look fine.

I also use Homewave on my iOS devices. I found when I was connected to my local network, it shows the live video (unlike the UI5 interface). Once I switch to the cell network, I lose the image.

The web interface for the SRICams looks a lot like Foscams. I tried a Foscam setup with no luck. The cameras are such a good price, I would love to get some more but only if I can get through the setup issues. Anyone have any ideas working with these cameras?

(this is a reference for the camera brand http://www.sricam.com/. That’s not a recommendation or endorsement, just a reference if anyone is looking at these cameras)

BUMP For fellow SRICAM Users!
I couldn’t get this working using generic IP cam so thought Id post what I had to do to get the SRICAM

I too got this camera working in UI7 (no pan tilt, or features though) using Vista Cam HD like so;

UI7

  1. Log into your SiriCam IP address: x.x.x.x, and set the admin password to admin/admin.
  2. Change Default port from 81 to 80 and verify it reboots and is reachable by to http://x.x.x.x (notice no :81 at end)
  3. Apps > Install Apps > Search Apps " VistaCam SD, PT & HD for UI6 " > Install
  4. Cameras > +Add Camera > Vista Cam HD > next > next > Manually Install.
  5. Name the camera > Select camera type: VistaCam HD (admin/admin) > Fill in the IP address: (x.x.x.x) > Select Room Name: > next
  6. finished!

Hi

Did this actually work? I have tried a number of times and still no luck.

I had my sricam working with one of this url check the link. It’s been a while since now I use blue iris. The only thing I don’t remember was if the ptz worked. Connect to Scricam IP cameras

I had it working with the generic camera. I did change the port to something different but I didn’t use port 80. I used something like 8200. Port 80 is used buy a bunch of devices by default so I would choose something different.

Another thing you can do is download IP CAM VIEWER APP from android app store. It’s free. Add a new camera give it your IP,port, user, password and then scan for cameras. And it will give you a list of camera names. Then go to I spy and search for that cameras urls. I want to say that foscam url work with the sricams.

I would appreciate any insight on connect the AP009 as well. I have the sricam android app working but can not figure out the url so I can get to it via a URL.
I’ve tried port 81, 554 and 5000, which I found 554 and 5000 using fing.

I know the password for sure but can find any place in the app for the user. I’ve tried admin, the device id printed on the side ( and it was used to find it in the app). No luck there either.

tried to use Ispy: tries for very long time with no luck, multiple tries and it actually crashes.

Any ideas??

Are you connected wired or wireless to camera?

Try this stream link: http://:/snapshot.cgi?user=&pwd=&resolution=32&rate=0

Works on mobile app VERA, IP Cam viewer, HomeWave and Imperihome… On UI7 device is just circle on cam picture…

I have the mobile app connected via wired and also had it up wireless. Apparently the only thing I can find for sure is the ip.

Hi
I have the SRICAM setup for ap001, ap002, ap004, ap005 and ap008. I also have another Chinese camera set up the revotech. All works some small issues on startup but fine for what I use it for. Actually trying to get the sp008 and xmeye ip cameras working. If you want I van video it and put the setup online for you to see it. I know I had a real ********** of a time getting them to work and every time a firmware is update it screws up except this time. Some something if going right. I am also using the latest version ui7.:$;$; that changed last week.

Thanks, that would be great. I’m about to give up on it.

I will do something up this week and send it over.

I just purchases an SRICAM SP011 and I am having a devil of a time finding out which port and what the URL is for a static photo or a stream to connect it UI7. Without the port and full URL, I have to use SRICAM’s software, which I do not mind, but I like using VeraMate to glance at my camera and use other software to stream live feeds. I am hoping someone figures it out and posts the solution.

I did get some clues. Using Ispy, I can now use different software to monitor and control 4 SP011’s. Here is the URL for the live stream:
rtsp://:@192.168.1.XXX/onvif1

The issue I am having is the rtsp protocol. Not sure if there is a plug-in or something to allow streaming that protocol. Hell, I would settle for just a snapshot.

I have just got a AP007,

generally like quite a lot (value for money) but also having problems getting HD stream on anything other that the OEM Sricam viewer

I want to use with BlueIris & VLC sometimes

These both work but are only SD (640x386) or lower still on /onvif2
“C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe” rtsp://xxx@xxxxxx.com:12345678@192.168.1.110:554/onvif1

or just 192.168.1.110:554/onvif1 for BI etc.

Just had email from sricam support & told Onvif only support 640p !!!

No mention of any other way to get at the HD stream so suspect this is no way, am following up with another email but suspect I know the answer or else the would have advised.

This would seem extraordinary if the camera is capable & you cannot get at the HD stream from other programs, even their own IPCAM looks like 640x386

I use BI with many other types of camera & not going to have another application running just for the Sricam.

As soon as I got the camera from the android App is did do an firmware update so perhaps they are developing, shame as I think the potential is there.
I would like web browser control though but perhaps to keep costs down which is OK.

I downloaded Blue Iris tonight and I have the server running on a Windows PC. I can see all 4 cameras, although PTZ is not working. Next up - configuring Vera to work with Blue Iris.

Hey Don,

Good luck and keep us [posted, i can’t get ,my SP008 working at all on Vera.

Thus far the Blue Iris plugin works great - displays all 4 cameras as 1 image so in VeraMate I can see all 4 cameras at once. No stream but at a glance, I can see if the garage door is opening, who is in the living room, etc. Cannot determine how to get each camera to send a pic since the Blue Iris plugin does not give you many options although the Blue Iris server does allow you to look at 1 camera at a time.

I have not had time to learn Blue Iris itself yet, but at least, for now, my 4 cams can be seen on my phone using VeraMate.

Perfect i will give it a try later today, thanks.

And the “record” setting in Vera work as well. Yesterday, my wife came home and Vera was not aware she was back so the system was in Away mode. When the garage overhead door opened, Vera started to “record” the camera images. When I say “record” it is a series of stills with no audio. But I can watch it on the Vera mobile app on my phone.

This morning, I placed the system on Away mode, opened the front door and it “recorded” me at the door, closing the door, and walking back to the couch when I turned it back to Home mode.

So that feature is working.

Hi Don

when you do that are you using pleg or from a scene?
