SQRemote reading Oil Pressure Etc.

Hi,
I would like to read out vital engine functions through Vera to SQRemote.
I have everything working on my IPad and I have setup a new pad in the program to display the data.
I would like to add more functions but the Vera end is tricky…I use a program I wrote on my PC to take Can Bus information and store it on the LightLevelStatus variable on an unused dimmer control every couple of seconds. This all works great but now I want to create more DummyDimmers to bring the data and dimmer name into the SQRemote.
Can you tell me what variables have to be in place in order for the program to pick them up? Only the preconfigured dimmer has worked so far so I must be missing something…
Let me know if you can.

I am sure you will get the best help from the Square Connect Team, but do you think the WEBView option in SQR could be used? If you already have a PC converting the information could it publish the readouts in a webpage?

Thanks Shady,
I am not familiar with the web option…I will check it out. Does the SQRemote handle shade controls as well? IPad control has become the up and coming thing for me on the Yachts…IPhone control running in second place!
I know I am pushing the limits here on the original design intent but by using the right techniques of programming all I am really doing is changing labels. With The use of Virtual Devices (I call them Dummy Devices) one can simply pass data through Vera without creating any significant workload for the Little Box.
Thanks for the feedback

Hi Tim,

I’m controlling my awning using a shade controller and Vera / SQremote and it works great. They pretty much function the same as Dimmers really.

The shade controller I’m using is one that @shady hooked me up with which is a lagotek AC1-ZW

@strangely,
Thanks for the information…the guys at SQRemote are great…they gave me all the information I needed to pass the information through to the IPad. I have a sample working but I haven’t had time to play with the Virtual Devices on Vera yet…but soon I will! The idea of using a Virtual Sensor was interesting as well but I want to create my own Virtual Devices from scratch so that I completely understand them. I want as little overhead added to Vera as possible. By creating my own and using the information from Square Connect I can conform to the format they use.
