Sonos Control?

Hello,
I own an SQ Blaster and also purchased the Editing software and am wondering if there is any way to incorporate control of a Sonos system?
I’m hoping I can control everything within your app on my iPad instead of bouncing back and forth between the sonos app and SQRemote…

Is this integration possible?

Sonos supports limited DNLA (a network protocol) so it may be possible to have some sort of plugin for Vera that SQRemote would control.

It is in our road map to control DNLA devices directly through the SQ system, but there are a lot of things on our road map!

Another alternative would be to use something like this:-

and the SQRemote web views.

I have not tried this - but your post has encouraged me to try this out when I get back from the Frankfurt Light and Building show in a couple of weeks. If you ry this first, let me know how it works!

I don’t own SquareConnect/Sonos products, so my comments may be a bit off.

AFAICT, Sonos devices are [tt]UPnP[/tt] devices.

MiOS’ support for importing [tt]UPnP[/tt] devices is broken.

There is a manual ‘fix’:

If MiOS would be able to respond to [tt]M-SEARCH[/tt] requests within a reasonable time ([tt]http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,1435.msg59759.html#msg59759[/tt]), it would suffice for SquareConnect to support [tt]UPnP[/tt] devices - no need to interface with Vera using MCV’s proprietary protocols.

We have considered adding direct uPnP control to SQRemoteHD.

Hoever, I think we will have a better solution that integrates into our SQBlaster Plus so that it can both control IR equipment and uPnP equipment… Much later in the year( or next year).

For now, Web Views and getting Vera to do something are the best options.
