Somfy support
Support added for RFY protocol (Somfy RTS)
It requires the new RFXtrx433E hardware.
Yesterday I received the RFXcomE hardware. Looking at the beta 2 topic I dont see the somfy support yet. Is it there or is it in another version?

Not in beta 2.
Only available in my “in development” and not finished but working well version: trunk

Where can I find the trunk version? I would like to test it.

found it! although somfy isnt working

Does the motor not respond at all?

Have you flashed the latest version 227?
Some motors need a specific command and this is changed in the version 227. With version < 227 the motor will only move for a second.

Did you also try with RFXmngr?
The same ID and unit number can be used in RFXmngr and the VERA plug-in.

Version 227 contains also specific commands for venetian blinds (Open/Close/Change angle) but I guess this is not yet implemented in the VERA plugin.

i am sorry, but i cant find a walkthrough how to add a somfy motor step by step.

first i guess i have to hook up the RFXcomE to my pc right? then flash firmware? when i try to connect using the flash software it says it can not connect.

Connecting... Unable to connect to device...
do i have to pair the somfy’s in the manager first and then in in vera, or cani pair it in vera right away?

See chapter 10: http://rfxcom.com/Documents/RFXtrx%20User%20Guide.pdf

If the VERA plug-in has a Program button it would be possible to pair the motor using the VERA, else use RFXmngr.

yes, that i found. too bad flashing is not working :frowning: flashing worked. now version 227.

right now the program button (either in vera, or directly connected to pc via the manager) does not make the motor move when in program mode.
i have set up the signal like this:
1 02 03
unit code 1
Command program

this is the output i get:
RFY command:0C 1A 00 03 01 02 03 01 07 00 00 00 00

0402010300
Packettype = Receiver/Transmitter Message
subtype = Transmitter Response
Sequence nbr = 3
response = ACK, data correct transmitted
however, the motor does not move at all…

Hi all,
I just received y RFXtrx transceiver.
I managed to get my Somfy screens motor working with it.
However I cannot get my roof louvres blades working. I have this : http://www.brustor.com/en/products/outdoor-living/b-150-xl
My somfy screens and my roof louvres are all remote controlled with a somfy remote : Telis 4 Soliris RTS Patio : http://www.somfy.co.uk/home/shop/products/180/en-uk/telis-4-soliris-rts-patio.cfm

When i press the button at the back of the remote to associate it with the RFXtrx, nothing is happening. It worked with the screens.
Any suggestion?
Thanks

EDIT : I tried again, even if the motor doesn’t move, it will program! It’s working!! (last time I tried I think my motor was in “security mode” because I played to much with it)

What I did is this :

  • Set my somfy remote to the channel of the screen I want to manage (you should disconnect power of other screens)
  • Move my screen in the middle of the window to be sure I’m on the good channel
  • Then I pushed the button at the back of the remote for 2sec : the screen would go up and down a little (or down and up, I don’t remember)
  • Finally I sent a “program” command as you did
  • I think after that I pushed the back button of the remote again, but I’m not sure
At this point, you should be able to make the motor move using RFXMngr under the RFY tab.

i totally forgot about the program button on the back!! that did the trick!

PS: it is not necessary to switch off power supply of all the somfy blinds. just pressing the programming button on the back of the remote, blind by blind, will suffice.

glad i could help ;D

as for my problem, i wrote to RFXCOM directly
they already answered my remote controller is using the extended version of the somfy RTS protocol and the rfxcom cannot use it so I might not be able to control my leds and de/activate my sun sensor

Hi,

Installed the RFXtrx433E today. Paired the Somfy motors succesfully with the RFX (can be controlled with the RFXmngr software). Also installed the RFX on the Vera Lite, using version pre 1.0. Firmware running is 227.

I create a new device with RFY. Used the proper ID and unit code, but somehow the Somfy control with the Vera doesn’t work.

What am I doing wrong? Suggestions?

Thanks!

Jep.

Probably not the same I’d.
The Vera plugin requires a decimal value.
I have not checked rfxmngr but it may require several hexa values ?

You can simply link the Vera with your somfy device using the program command in the tab managed devices…

Thanks Lolodomo!

In the rfxmngr software the id is a hexa value. I copied this value in the Vera device, but that must be a decimal value. My mistake… Found a hex to dec converter on the internet and that did the trick.

Great!

Jep.

Thanks for that tip, I’d been trying for ages to get my somfy controlled patio awning to work in Vera. Converting the hex from rfxmngr to decimal worked. It pays to rtfm occasionaly.

I just my RFXcomE and configured my blinders with the RFXmanager.
Now I wanted to install the Luup files to get it worked with a Vera3. I tried your trunk files but I still cannot get RFY in the device category… Where can I get development files to get access to SOMFY devices ?

Everything is included in the trunk branch.

I bought a RFXTRX433E and a Vera Lite to Control my Somfy screens.

I am already 3 months busy to get my Vera Lite start to work with my Somfy screens.
First I had to downgrade from UI7 to UI5 (feedback Tech Support).
But still it does not work.

Controller Vera Lite UI5 1.5.622
Device RFXTRX433E
Version 1.0 firmware 227 (screens are working via PC and RFXTRX).
installations steps done as stated @ Vesternet.com
ID used 1.00.03 1
Added trunk 149 Beta 1 till 3
I have read all feedback in the related topics and still nothing happens.

What am I doing wrong? Regards, Ren
