Last week I upgraded my Vera 3 unit to UI7. I know, I shouldn’t have. Either way, afterwards in the proces of trying to make things work properly again I discovered that PLEG just wouldn’t come back to life.
I decided to remove all the PLEG, PLTS and PLC instances (I didn’t have that many) and to uninstall the plugins. Then I rebooted my vera and installed the plugins again. I was happy to see that my little trick had worked, because PLEG worked again.
All seemed well untill I noticed that I am now running a ‘90 Day Evaluation Period’ and the licence that I had bought last september is gone.
Now my guestion is: is this normal behaviour and do I have to buy a new licence, or did something went wrong?
I wish people would capture the log when the problems happens …
The drastic cause of removing plugins and re-creating should not be needed …
I would prefer to help identify the cause and prevent this in the future.
I understand your point. On the other hand, I’m not that techwise and don’t know how to capture the logs in the first place ([sub]sorry[/sub]). I saw another user here that had the same problem.
Maybe it’s an idea to expand the PLEG basics document with a step by step tutorial of what to do before asking for help on the forum.
Check out the below thread and install the InfoViewer plugin. It’ll provide you easy access to all kinds of Vera logs and info to help when you have trouble.
