We want to clarify a recent invoice that many Vera customers received and apologize for any confusion it may have caused.
Over the past several weeks, we have sent email communications explaining the upcoming Vera Cloud service changes taking effect on August 1, 2026. Unfortunately, a reminder invoice was delivered to some customers before this accompanying explanation reached them, which understandably created confusion.
The invoice was sent as a reminder that, beginning August 1, 2026, a Vera Cloud subscription will be required to continue using cloud-based features such as secure remote access and other connected services.
Receiving this invoice does not mean you have been automatically enrolled in a subscription plan, nor does it mean you have been charged. No subscription will begin unless you choose and activate a Vera Cloud plan.
In order to continue using Vera Cloud services after August 1, you will need to select and activate a Vera Cloud plan before that date. If a plan is not selected, your controller will no longer operate normally, cloud-based servicesâincluding remote accessâwill no longer be available after August 1.
Select a Vera Cloud Plan
We sincerely apologize that the invoice was delivered before this explanation. Our intention was simply to remind customers who have not yet selected a Vera Cloud plan that action will be required before the August 1 transition.
For additional information about Vera Cloud plans, available features, and frequently asked questions, please visit our support center or contact our Customer Care team at Support@ezlo.com or 1-866-966-2272. Weâre happy to answer any questions you may have.
Only two devices to move left then I can unplug my Vera, thanks for these ten years. I have switched to Home Assistant since a couple of years but still had a few devices in the Vera. Now, Ezlo â to finally move them. Thanks again and good bye.
With all of the issues that I have every time I try to do something basic with the Ezlo controller and fail, I think it may be time to move on. Iâm just not sure what is right for me. I want something that out of the box just works and does not need a lot of custom code to do what I want/need.
I can apply the subscription fee to the cost of replacing the controller.
I had freephoneline.ca for a long time that was free other than very inexpensive long distance until it shut down. I prefer NOT going out of business but a lesser starting fee would have been preferable, especially with our poor Canadian exchange rate.
Not good enough. As you say, my Vera system will work offline, so Iâll take that opportunity to organise a transition to SmartThings, which will connect to most of my Z-Wave devices.
Same here:
Subscribed, but nowhere it is mentionned that Iâve subscribed. I still see the banner âYour Vera service will be impacted August 1, 2026. Make your selection now to avoid loss of service.â, and from the portal in the âmy accountâ menu, it still displays âNo Active Billing Plans Foundâ.
I have not even received a mail confirmation of my subscription.
However, I have received an enrollment mail for the Ezlo Sense beta access.
Thus, my guess is that the subscription process is not yet polishedâŠ
Thanks for the feedback and for raising these questions. I just wanted to clarify that the subscription banner you are seeing is not dynamic at this time, so it is currently visible to all Vera customers, whether they have activated a Vera Cloud subscription or not.
If you ever have doubts about your specific subscription status, you can verify it directly in your account or contact Customer Care and weâll be happy to check it for you.
Yesterday we identified the issue and reported it internally. Our cloud department found that email providers were blocking our messages, and the situation has already been escalated to them so it can be resolved as soon as possible. Weâre very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you.
Maybe instead of editing/censoring the post you should apologize for the inconvenience that you caused. In fact you should be apologizing to everyone that was affected.
Your fee was paid and you still disrupted my service.
