I currently have hardwired smoke detectors in my vacation home that are linked together such that when one alarm sounds, they all sound. I’ve been looking for a Z-wave product to replace one of them. Despite rumors, I cannot find anything on the market.
I was wondering if one of the Fibaro “smart implants” might be used to to create a reasonable facsimile. When the alarm goes off, it obviously communicates the status to the other wired detectors, and I was wondering if the implant might be wired so as to detect that closed circuit and to send reports on it. Does anyone have any experience or advice in doing something like this? Thanks for your help.
Yes, it should be possible. Smart implant can mirror inputs, so it’s possible to have a bypass and forward the input to the output. Smart implant are not officially supported under Vera.
