Ok. At home now and Dark as hell!
Did not run home mode scene!
I have noticed a thing
My turn off alarm then turn on scene in Vera has a question that says
Ask for activation. ”On/off”
Automations Don’t seem to have that function…
Strange!!!

Seriously? Is there somewhere we can read more on that? What sort of automation needs to be run manually?
EDIT
Blow me you’re right:
The following automations cannot be run automatically:
WTAF?

Maybe you could try by unmark ”show at run”
Wow that is unfortunate… what’s the point in having an automation when it can’t even run on it’s own.
Very odd. The ‘rationalisations’ are fascinating as well…

Wonder if it will work with HomeKit. I have a HomeKit Vera hub so I may be able to directly control the device through there. Not a solution for everyone though.
What do you mean by HomeKit vera hub? The VeraHomeKit bridge?
I personally have been running the VeraHomeKit bridge for a couple of years alongside the habridge. Though I agree that it is a bit of a chore to setup, it was the only thing available back then and from what I can tell is still much easier to understand and setup than these shortcuts…

I’ve been using this bridge! It’s probably similarly setup as the VerHomekitBridge. Only Issue I’m having with it is, is that when I’m not on my LAN the device states don’t show up correctly. This has been an ongoing issue with it and I don’t see a fix coming for it anytime soon. Otherwise it’s a good bridge! Can even use it for google home and Alexa.
Interesting. Did not know such a commercial bridge existed. It’s actually quite different from what I run.
Mine is pure software running on the same VM on my NAS as openluup and the amazon habridge.
It is literally 5 year old and it has been working rock solid. I don’t have any of the issues you are reporting.
Yea I was quite surprised too. A little while ago someone posted about it and I thought I’d be the guinea pig and give it a try. I mean if I knew that much about computers etc. I would’ve given your way a go.
Yeah, I’ve been using this opensource HomeKit bridge for several years, with reliable geofencing I might add, as well.
