Setup one scene that controls other scenes

Hi

I have managed to setup for different scenes throughout the day. That was no problem.

I would like to setup a scene that i only activate one button which overwrites the over scenes, For example. I work away from home and would like to set it up so there is a consent heating setting for example have it set at 15c. Then when i return i click deactivate and it continues to run my scenes as normal.

Hope this makes sense.

Rich

My first thought is the “combination Switch” plugin … or if the PLEG users can help on this one ?

I have done some reading on here regarding them both but would need a push in right direction on how to use both of these plugins as being a newbie am still a bit lost.

Install the Combo switch plugin.
Under configuration add the 2 or more things you want to happen … you may need to add a “virtual switch” to the ruing scene your over riding.
create a scene and for trigger: select the combo switch … and set your Temp etc.

Hi

Its just the one thermostat that am wanting to control for downstairs heating. I have 4 scenes setup through the day etc and just want to set it to one as said above.

I don’t think scenes are the right solution for you. You can easily prevent a scheduled scene from running when a VirtualSwitch is on (indicating you are out) but it will not run automatically when you return and turn the switch off. It is possible to do this with scenes that run every five minutes and check both the Away switch and the time but it will take some Lua coding.

I think PLEG will give you the best solution and also allow all the refinements you haven’t yet thought of (but will). ;D With a little searching (try Google with site: forum.micasaverde.com) you should find several examples of similar PLEG configurations.

Thank you

I have a ipad mounted on wall at front door and would like to have a button saying HOME and AWAY that i can press.

There are several remote-control apps for iOS that will enable you to implement your home/away button. See the dedicated forum area here.
