Setting up Vera3 /UI5 - Problems with IE 9

I’m passing this info along for others who are encountering issues setting up their new vera box. This cost me a couple of hours attempting to figure out what was wrong.

Background: I’m a new user having just purchased vera3

Problem: I had trouble using the web interface to the vera3 on a 64 bit Windows 7 machine and running IE 9.

The Fix: Switching to Firefox has fixed the issues I encountered.

Details:
IE 9 appeared to work fine for most pages, but there was some flakiness and in some cases I was not able to do a task at all. The major issues were:
Not being able to change the room for scenes
Not being able to select the day of the week radio button on the Add Schedule page for a scene
Not being able to add a non-supported generic IP camera even

I had tried running IE 9 in compatibilty mode but vera detected this and displayed a dialog requesting that I upgrade to one of the latest browsers.

If you are having issues during setup, I recommend verifying that you are using FireFox as IE 9 doesn’t appear to be supported.

I ran into a similiar issue this past wekend trying to setup a generic camera. This was using IE 9 on windows 7 and also Safari on my iphone.
I cant say yeah or neigh to the other items on your list that you found.

Did you try using Firefox?

I am using google chrome and never had any problems with the vera at all.

I ran into the same problem on Friday with IE9. Switched to Firefox and the problem was resolved.

I’m running the Vera Lite and noticed some weird things under IE9

When I install an App, e.g W.O.L it will open up the settings box and no matter what I do to code it (clicking on the X top right) it springs back up again, i can’t make it go away, so in the end I have to remove the app.

I’m amazed at the difference in the browsers…

Your best option is to use another browser besides IE. IE has many issues with Vera.

Yeah death to IE! (Oh yeah and Safari)

Apart from necessities in some case where people don’t get a choice due to work IT policies etc, I can’t see why anyone would still want to use it when Chrome kicks butt!
