Well, it’s been a while since I have messed with my IR (Since I have been waiting with loads of false promises from Vera to do ANYTHING with it) so I tried to hop on Vera from work only to see a Communication Error with it lol, go figure. Anyway, I think the New IR device section is to add your actual devices controlled by you IR Controller <–USBUIRT. I think it’s the area to add things like TV and Stereo. Are you trying to add your USB UIRT here or are you saying you already have your UIRT installed and when trying to add eg. a TV you select the Make/Model and get no results?
Hello, i used the wiki to set up my USBUIRT, everything done but when i click on “Go” in the mobile version of vera, it reloads the page but does not show the remote i configured. What can i do?
In some firmwares, we encounter this problem. We didn’t made them official, but it seems that’s in the official firmwares as well. We have a bug report added for this: http://bugs.micasaverde.com/view.php?id=846 and it will be resolved.
I received by brand new USB-UIRT today. Tried to connect to both USB ports, but Vera doesn’t seem to recognize it. In Devices → Infrared → New device, it doesn’t show up.
Currently using UI2 1.0.979.
I’m I doing anything wrong !?
***** Update *****
Suddenly, Vera seemed to recognize my USB UIRT. Tested with a Sony TV and it works fine.
Now, I’d like to trigger a scene if an IR signal is received by the USBUIRT. Is this possible ? How ?
Did you have any luck with this , I want to use it on the same way.
Send a Ir signal to USB-UIRT , activate a scene in vera ( to control the light etc )
The USB-UIRT is currently only send only which is a real shame for some that may want this!
Although I must add that the goal should be to get away from IR all together. I’m only using my USB-UIRT with the SQ remote for TV control in a remote location (I have a pyramid repeater / blaster going to it, and also control of my DirecTV DVR which is next to Vera in a closet.
If you use SQ remote then you don’t need line of sight anymore. The only thing SQ remote is really missing at the moment is Macro support, but you can work around that by creating a scene that either triggers lights and then also using the advance options in the same scene control you can get it switch on or off your IR devices/inputs etc. You then map a button in SQ remote to this scene.
