Ok, it happened! I’ve been vera’d! I was attempting to add a thermometer and it failed. I told vera to remove it, and it passed, then I lost control of all my devices.
After mucking about with it, I have recovered 1 switch.
What appears to have happened is a scene controller has been promoted to “master controller”. All devices with the exception of the one switch are now able to be controlled via the scene controller (which was not the case before), and vera has lost all connection with everything except for the one switch.
It appears to me that when I tried to “add a battery operated device” it confused the thermostat with the scene controller. How the hello do I tell vera, ignore, stop, halt bypass FAIL???
Yesss, backup, have one, the only thing it seemed to have rescued was that 1 switch. The network is small so i guess I’ll just factory the box. I’d still like to know how the scene controller got control tho.
Ok, after the backup/restore things are back to normal, but there was some oddities.
It took the better part of a day for vera to “remember” what she use to do and it was all of a sudden but more like ok that device is restored, later that one etc.
My motion sensor to turn on a light had to be re-polled via learn mode - the motion does occasionally fall off so it could be just coincidence.
The scene controller has now reverted to what it use to be able to control.
I guess for me the lesson learned is take the batteries out of scene controllers!
