I’ve asked this numerous time and no one seem to be able to confirm or at least i didn’t see it. Anyhow, I jsut wanted to FYI for those who have the lock.
Yes via Nexia Bridge if you subscribe to Nexia Home, it does detect the firmware of the lock and it does tell you to update it if there is a new firmware available via Nexia Bridge only. That seems to be the only way to update the firmware to the lock w/o having to send it back.
Yes, it helps me… Thank you for the info. This is annoying because I wish if the Schlage don’t have free firmware updates, at least they should have an option for me to pay for an update (20-50 bucks) without having to buy the stupid proprietary equipment.
Good thing we now have bit of competition and hopefully Schlage will open up the market.
Once you get sign up and have access to their subscription user forum page, it also state “NOTE: FIRMWARE UPDATES FOR THE NEXIA BRIDGE WILL BE PUSHED AUTOMATICALLY BY NEXIA.”

What are you talking about? If you have a problematic or outdated lock, simply contact Schlage and they will arrange to update the lock or send you a new one. Free of charge. Several people in the forums here have done this. I’ve had an entire lock replaced free of charge to me. They have the easiest customer service to deal with, IMO.

I did that method too. But it is a pain when you already have 2+ locks installed around the house and having to get them to send you new one each time a new firmware is released. Then you have to remove the lock, reinstall and reprogram.
I had to do that 3 times because the first two times they sent me 5.6 firmware.
I wouldn’t mind picking up a nexia bridge to do the firmware updates just cuz we have so many locks, but we really don’t need the subscription for Nexia Home.
Is there a workaround by chance to update firmware if you just have the nexia with no subscription?

Nope, must have Nexia and subscription.
Either find a promo code that gives free subscription for “X” period or just pay 9.99 a month. A small price to pay for the hassle if you have a lot of locks already installed.
