Schlage Lock Problems

I have 3 Schlage Locks, 2 “Deadbolts” and 1 “lever.”
The 1st deadbolt is able to communicate with Vera directly.
The 2nd relays through a Schlage RP200 (that came with a kit)
The 3rd is a bit further then the second, and it is a lever. So, I placed a second RP200 proximate to it to allow for a good relay capability.
I took Vera to the lever lock and paired them, and then waited until is was configured. I then relocated Vera to her home and the lock was inaccessible. Because the topology had changed…
So I HEALED the Z-Wave network, and now both the distant locks are inoperable.
My next step was to backup Vera and factory reset it, and am restoring backup now.
Upon completion, it looks as if the 2nd door is no operating again, but the 3rd (the lever lock) isn’t
So, I manually added the neighbors to it to be the RP200 I added proximate to it, and the on the 2nd lock relays through. I am doing a Configure on it and will know the results a bit later.
Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I have 2 Schlage locks-
The one most distant from Vera2 has occasionally dropped off the grid.
Sometimes it takes multiple heals to get it communicating again- I’ve since moved Vera2 to be more or less equidistant between the two locks and I’ve had no problems since.

You may have to perform multiple heals before the lock communicates again.

Good Thought. I can probably relocate it to a position which may help. But I will try another few heals first…
Anyone else have thoughts?

Not sure if this helps, but I started my network by adding a few GE plug in wall switches around the house to make sure I had a good mesh laid out everywhere before I started. I started with 4 switches.
Vera upstairs, one switch upstairs on the opposite side of the house from the vera
On the main floor I have one on each end of the house
In the basement I have one on the end where the cars aren’t…

Then I started adding locks, thermostats, more switches…

How many devices are in your network? Remember Z-Wave utilizes a mesh network - the more devices the better the mesh. Ge/Jasco, Evolve, Schlage devices and the new Leviton VRP03-1LW: http://smarthome-products.com/p-159-vizia-rf-vrp03-1lw-z-wave-lamp-module.aspx will all talk directly to the Locks. When building a network only the device closest to the lock needs to be Security compliant.

Only the device nearest the lock needs to be security compliant?
I thought every hop it too had to be in order to maintain the security???

This changes everything…
I have made sure I had GE dimmers scattered all about to allow a path through the mesh…

And… Relocating Vera to my alternate location seems to have worked… All 3 door locks now work… My only concern is now the “front door” is the most distant, and I plan on installing the Kwikset Deadbolt in it as soon as I get a new door that holds a “normal” locking mechanism…

I also have not retired my Vera 1 in favor of the Vera 2 in the box… Heard Kwiksets don’t work with Vera 1…
Alas… More changes… More fun…
