Schlage FE599NX CAM 716 ACC

I’m new to Vera Lite but have been relatively successful with some assistance of the forum. My sticking point so far has been my Schlage FE599NX door lock. It paired with my Vera Lite without any issue. I setup my 5 pins and thought everything was ok. I am however now experiencing two different problems.

First issue is that my PINs are randomly disappearing. As mentioned I have 5 pins but on several occurrences some of them simply disappear from Vera. They still work on the door, but they are shown no where on the Vera end. They never come back unless I reenter them, then they take the same place they once were (meaning PIN 2 and PIN 4). I’m not deleting them so I have no clue what’s the cause or how to remedy this.

The other portion is the notification feature. I have several scenes setup based on which PIN is entered. So far I have been successful with a bad PIN entry. Also PIN 1 being entered runs the scene correctly and I am notified as setup. The rest of the PINs (when showing and when not showing) do not work. They are not notifying me nor are they properly running the scene. Has anyone had similar issues?

Any assistance or suggestions would be appreciated. I have deleted and reentered the PINs multiple times without success. Nothing seems to work.

Has no one had these lack of alert/erasing PIN issues before? How about other lock devices?

I had this in the beginning, it sounds like you have a weak/bad route to your lock. Have you run a heal report?

That’s correct, it came back as everything ok.

It just doesn’t make sense that only one of the notifications work. However PIN 1 works flawlessly every single time. The others have never worked at all. I initially thought maybe a connection issue as well. But to me then there would be successful and failed notifications across all five PINs.

There is also a light switch, which supports beaming, two feet from the lock.

Have you tried using a * in the a pin code is entered field and not the pin index. This will test if the other pin codes are being recognized in Vera when used.

Ahh… this can be deceptive. I’ll explain why.

I have TWO Jasco light switches (support beaming) right next to one of my locks (I have two Schlages), yet I was getting poor communications. The problem is that the lock was just on the border of distance to be able to communicate directly with the Vera controller, so during an auto-heal, it would configure an auto-route to the lock that was iffy at best.

Go to the “Z-Wave Settings | Repair” tab and put your lock node # in the “Repair only node” box. Run this and see what happens.

Just to verify, you mean put a ‘*’ where it asks :What PIN code INDEX number?

I’ve run a heal doing as you said, I’m waiting for the report to show. Currently it’s still showing the report from the earlier run this morning.

Yes. A ‘*’ is a wildcard meaning it will trigger the notification whenever a valid pin is entered.

Thanks, just wanted to confirm Vera saw it as a wildcard and you didn’t mean something else.

Anyway, this worked. I am now getting alerted saying PIN number 2 has been entered. Not sure why the single alert is not working.
