I hate to beat a topic to death, but I am having an issue with the Schlage BE469NX deadbolt. Mine has firmware MAIN_6.8 and my VeraLite is running firmware 1.7.619. VeraLite will see the lock and will start the pairing process but it fails when exchanging security protocols. The lock appears in my devices but I have no control over it and it doesn’t report the correct state of the device. I have tried all previous suggestions I could find (resetting the lock, putting VeraLite on battery power right next to the lock, changing the Automatically Configure values) but nothing gets past the security error. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
I was having this same issue with my deadbolt with I first started trying to pair it. The only difference was that I was using UI5 (firmware 1.5.622). I tried multiple locks, multiple Vera locations in proximity to the locks, different batteries, full power, low power, etc. and nothing worked. I upgrade my Vera to UI7 (1.7.619) which is what you have now, and my lock pair in a matter of seconds.
In UI7, I used the software to initiate the pairing process. I clicked “add device” then I chose “door locks”. From there I selected “Push button Deadbolt Lock Schlage SCH-TSBR-605C” even though that is not the same part number. When you use that, the next page shows a picture of the BE469NX and guides you from there.
I just re-read your initial post and I may have missed what you were asking for. It sounds like you have it paired with the Vera, you just can’t control it (in which case my post above is useless).
Does the lock function properly on it’s own? I.E. does it lock and unlock properly using the keypad? You may need to reset it and let it run through it’s initial setup where it establishes the limits for “open” and “close” which would be needed in order to allow Vera to control it.
If the lock is close enough to talk directly to the Vera, try manually editing the route so that it only tries to talk directly to the Vera. I have found that some nodes claim they can beam when they can’t so the security messages from the Vera to the Lock don’t make it. If it can’t reach try having it route through a device that you trust to be beaming correctly (I have found that Schlage’s don’t talk through cooper light switches correctly at least on my system).
I know this post won’t be helpful.
but i have this lock. with ui5 (15622) i took the vera to the lock. put vera in include mode
punched in the code on the lock to enable/enroll and took vera back up stairs and plugged it in.
pulled up the web page and it was already there. it did say “exchanging security protocols” or something along those lines for like 10-15 minutes but then it went away and has worked perfectly ever since.
I purchased mine from amazon about a month ago.
vera says my version is 6,3,42,104,21
I just pair this lock yesterday with Main 6.8 and veralite running 1.7 firmware. What I did to pair this device is this. Check your veralite and see if vera added. If it did delete it from you system. Make sure it is excluded. I pair these using the veralite connected to the adaptor cable and connected to my network. Have the lock near your veralite. On your PC, login to your veralite box and click on add device. Choose the appropiate device and click add. now here is the trick on the screen it will tell you to add a new user pin, ignore that. All you do now is put your Schlage lock in pair ing mode then click next on your pc screen. It will start the pairing process and it will be completed.

I am not sure if the question from OP is answered - I too was having problems with pairing the lock. Specifically, the lock would confirm that it was included (green arrow) but would get stuck at the step “Getting Secured Classes”. The critical step, at least for me, was doing this before you input in your custom user codes. I had done this and was getting stuck. After resetting the lock (disconnect battery, while holding outside Schlage button, reconnect battery), the lock was able to pair with no problems. After it’s been paired, you can input in your own user codes.
