Schlage BE469 Setup - Schlage Connect

I recently bought a Schlage BE469 - http://amzn.com/B00AGK9KOG.
I have Vera Lite with UI5. I follow instructions in the Schlage manual

Schlage → 6 Digit Code → 0

The lock blinks for 30 seconds. I see it show up in Vera dashboard, but it fails to configure.

Fail at : Getting secure classes

I have tried to unpair and even reset the lock per instructions. Now, the lock keeps coming back into Vera dashboard even when unpaired and reset the lock itself.

I have tried to remove and re add, same issues. Has anyone been able to pair this lock with Vera UI5?

I opened up a service ticket for my BE469 shortly after upgrading my firmware to 1.7.719. Here is the response I received.

Hello Ken,
I have checked our bug tracking system and it seems there are some known issues with this model of door lock and Vera that have already been reported to our development team.As a temporary solution I?ve downgraded the firmware on your unit but you?ll need to re-pair the lock.
If you?ll need help on this, we can schedule a phone call in this matter so we can assist you. You can find our schedule below. Please let us know with at least 6 hours before so we can add the phone call in our calendar.

Regards,

They downgraded my firmware to 1.7.649 but, that didn’t fix it. Not sure how Vera is affecting UI5 and UI7 but, I am getting the same issue as you. Looks like we will have to wait for the next firmware update and hope it fixes the BE469 without breaking anything else.

I had this same issue. I upgraded my Vera to UI7 and everything worked fine.

Perhaps the problem is only indirectly related to having performed a UI upgrade prior to when the lock stopped working. I have used my BE469 with every version of UI7 from 1.7.619 to the current version without any problems. Since there doesn’t seem to be a consistent series of user reported problems here with the BE469 after any of the recent UI7 updates, it’s odd the Vera support people suggested this was the cause of the problem.

As for the problem posted by the original poster to this discussion having a problem pairing this lock with a Vera running UI5 - the solution that seems to work most consistently is to make sure the lock and Vera are in close proximity to each other during the pairing process. The pairing process itself can also take a fair bit of time to properly complete.

hmb, I have been running my lock with UI7 since it was released. Never had any issues up to now. One thing I have noticed is that the lock no longer will pair with the VeraLite using the + button on Vera itself. That is how I used to get them paired. Now I have to go into the Vera, select Add a device, select Door Locks and then select Schlage SCH-TSBR-605C. Once the pairing process starts, I go to the lock and start it there also. The units find each other and The Vera tells me it is not the 605C but, still creates the device. It reads the battery level and the lock/unlock status. It even lets me know there are 3 PIN codes. It just will not lock and unlock the device. It gives the same error message Kyle is getting. Would you be so kind as to try an experiment? Would you un-pair your lock with your Vera, wait a short period and then re-pair the two devices once again? I have a sneaky suspicion I would have been fine if I had not rebuilt my VeraLite with the new firmware. Be forewarned, your lock will stop working if I am correct. By the way, now Vera Support is going to lower my firmware to 1.7.599 to see if that works.
